I have a strong feeling, he is going to be a one term president.....if he doesn't resign under pressure before then.
Yeah.... but.... we stopped at Fuddrucker's the other night, and I saw a woman, 20 yrs old or so, proudly wearing her "A new hope has arrived!" Obama tee shirt. Never underestimate the power of the uninformed.

There's no way he's going to resign, he's too much in love with the trappings of power. The thing to do is to work for a positive change - starting with a more conservative Congress in 2010. I hope he's a one-termer also, but it's going to take a lot of education of a lot of people to make that happen - many folks just don't want to see past the glitz. Obama's a rock star, that's all they need to know.

Back on topic - I don't carry a knife. But I really hate these back-door approaches that we see the guvmint taking when they try to sneak things like this through without honest discussion.
I will add, as a fifth circumstance in the situation of the House of Representatives, restraining them from oppressive measures, that they can make no law which will not have its full operation on themselves and their friends, as well as on the great mass of the society. - J Madison, Federalist #57

Point taken Chip. But I have to say, it's to early in his term for the peoples to be so totally disenchanted with his new policies to start a movement for resignation.....that will take a few years, when the people see where he wants to lead the country. I think, and it's only my opinion, that with the Congressional elections in 2010, we will start seeing those changes occur.

It all has to do with what I call the political pendulum. Like a pendulum on a grandfather clock...that slowly swings from left to right...right to left; so to will the political climate change in these United States...from the liberalism that is surfacing right now, back to a more sane approach(IMHO) to conservative leadership. That's been the history of this "Great Experiment" in Democracy, since its founding. It's just a matter of time.

He promised "change". Now it's time that we help him follow through with that promise. Let's change presidents in 2012. Before that though, we need to have some serious change in 2010.

I try to remember that the president alone cannot do everything that O is pushing. The congress has to buy into it as well. That is why I try to contact my representatives over everything like this that I have a strong opinion on. Let them know how you want to be represented; if they don't listen they will have to fight for their job in 2010. :patriot:

The problem is I can't think of one likely Conservative candidate tht I could get excited about.
The Newt won't run. Thompson is getting to old, Cheney is believed to be Darth Vader. And Romney disapeared.. I don't see any leadership at all left. Even Texas politics has backed away true conservatism. Until there is some real leadership there isn't anyone left to stand in the way of Obamaism. I just don't see such leadership anymore in the Republican party.

Nah, Chuck Norris a big chicken. He passed my dentist's office one day as my Dr. was coming out for lunch. Chuck stated, 'Man, I am tough, but I don't think I'm brave enough to come to you.'

My dentist is Dr. 'Payne' and it is printed in big letters on door to his office.

But Obama wasn't exactly billed as the crown prince of the other party in '04. He took a lot of people by surprise when he started doing well in the primaries. Have faith that there is a super-star candidate in the making who can make Texas proud!

As I remember it while his introduction for his speech in the 2004 was like a coronation, and there was talk from the liberal media of him being a savior for the party back then. I distinctly remember listening to his speech and being afraid.

Sara Palin came in with with much of the same image, but the liberals have managed to destroy her image in the eyes of the moderates.. You have to get moderate votes to win elections.
