Simply put, I'd rather not. :grumble
Yeah. It's called the Middle Ages.
I am wondering if these men were a part of the Current Middle Ages? That would explain everything.
I don't know about you guys, but I am very proficient in such weapons. I have no wish to actually duel with swords and knifes. Way too messy and it takes a lot of effort. :smash:

I don't hafta imagine too hard, there's a series kinda based on this premise by S. M. Sterling (it starts with Dies the Fire, first of the Emberverse series). In one of the books, there was some graffiti scribbled on a town wall as the main characters passed by: "Help! I've fallen into a RenFaire, and I can't get out!" Stirling seems to like these type of "what if" stories, he's got lots of different ones.

I've read some of that series, its interesting, but I get a little tired of all the Wiccan stuff.

In Georgia, a man was sentenced to life in prison after a jury convicted him of fatally shooting his mother in the back with a crossbow while she slept.

The 40-year-old man reportedly was angry because his mother told him to get a job or move out of her house.

He claimed the shooting was an accident.

I have a katana with a real blade, not a souvenir store rinky dink blade. It was my primary home defense weapon before the guns. The beauty of a katana is you can hold it such that the blade is hidden completely behind your arm and the tip is behind your head. A quick under hand upward swing is all it takes to get started from there so I think it has a pretty good surprise factor as well.

I think it would be much messier than a pistol though. :???:

That depends. I heard about a guy who fired a a gun in the house, and the round penetrated several walls before holing the water heater.

In Cortland, Dekalb County, central Illinois, yesterday, a 64-year-old man shot a woman in the face with an arrow during a domestic dispute. She was taken to the hospital. Her condition was not published, but given that she was transferred to a second hospital suggests it is serious.

The shooter was arrested.

Look for "arrow control" to be introduced in the Illinois legislature. :grumble

In Oklahoma City, Wednesday, a medical doctor fatally stabbed his 9-year-old son and injured his wife, who had tried to intervene.
[A] neighbor ... told police that [the alleged stabber] was supposed to be undergoing treatment for anger, alcohol and drug abuse issues,
The man is currently licensed to practice medicine, though not much longer, I suppose.
