Fangs..............you did the right thing, you'll look back at this relationship and laugh about. I was in a similar situation in a short drama relationship and not a day goes by that I regret telling her bye!

Well played. I know this is not a game, but her contrition came only when she realized that she could no longer manipulate you. Better to do what you did.

It reminds me of one time, years ago, when my wife, son, and I were staying with my mother at a vacation spot. My mother is a difficult woman, and she became so offensive and abusive that the three of us "ran away from home." We literally packed our bags and headed out onto the highway, hitchhiking out of there. She drove along the shoulder of the road, pleading for us to come back, but we had already had the last straw.

My mother said to me, "If I apologize, will you come back?" She obviously didn't get her own irony... ...that she didn't really think an apology was necessary, but that she was willing to extend an insincere apology if I might be shallow enough to accept it. We've since talked it all over, and she still doesn't get that point.

You can't fix people whose moral compass is broken. Your now EX girlfriend has a broken moral compass.
“Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”

Thats one thing I learned about dating a long time ago... The first hint of drama, bug out!! If I hear more than 2 sentences about a ex within 2 months of dating it's the last time she'll hear from me.. Then ya get the whole " your the perfect guy, you treat me so well " line.. I stuck around with a girl for several yrs that was all about drama at first, then I thought I had it all cleaned up. A yr went by and I actually started to think I wanted to marry this chick.. A few months later I found out that during that yr she slept with several other guys, and she was back dating her old ex... I got rid of the drama, but she was like a moth to a flame. She just went behind my back.. I learned what the saying " you cant change people " really means... Hind sight is 20/20, funny that even when you know that, you still never see the truth until your out of the situation. She called me a few weeks ago, just out of the blue.. Mentioned she was now dating a guy thats 23, has 3 kids. Her, her B/F and his kids are all living with his parents.. :thumbs2: All I could do was smile and chuckle, and with a " good luck " I hung up the phone and blocked her phone number "rlol" "rlol"

With the knowledge, it got me out of another possible bad situation with another girl.. Dated her for a little while, taking is very very slow. I then learned her ex b/f was still living with her and they have been dating back and forth for yrs, and he's a tad on the psycho side.. I bugged out, again.. A few weeks later a buddy calls me up freaking out, this girl is pregnant, and he thought I had something to do with it.. Nope not me, but it was however the ex b/f.. Anymore it takes a lot more than a pretty smile and a wink of an eye before I'm even remotely interested

Glad you got out of it without anything bad happening.

{***SIGH***} My dating years sure were dull.

If it hadn't been for the Drive-In, the human species, as we know it, may have died off a half century or so ago.
