Academy in Lewisville had lots of 9mm Monarch in steel case, no brass, for $9.99/50. they also had Blazer 9mm aluminum cases, 3-4 boxes this was at 4:00pm.
Walmart in Lewisville (main street and 35E) had 9 boxes left of Federal 9mm 8.97/50 6 box limit, 2 boxes 40S&W Federal (don't know the price).

I did not buy any of the monarch 9mm or Blazer - I have never put anything but brass ammo in my M&P, is there any reason I should not use the steel or aluminum cased ammo?

Holy Carps... If we're starting to see .45ACP in stores, perhaps this IS the end of the shortage!

Horray!!!! :thewave :woohoo :clapping: :hurry: :tiphat:

Now I need to buy me a few thousand rounds so I'll never be caught short again! :fire

The is a sports store on SH 146 just at Nasa Road in Seabrook (not sure of the name of the store but it is just north of the Mario's Flying Pizza.)

It had most type of ammo on the shelves (only .38 and 45ACP seemed to be missing although no FMJ .380 either), seemes like they had plenty of boxes of it too. I have not seen the shelves so full for ages. :thumbs2:

One reason I don't use them is because the two ranges I go to won't let you use anything but brass; they inspect your ammo before you shoot.

same here .
i think it has to do with recycling . they dont want to have to dig out the steel and aluminum from the rest of the brass .
