If they throw in free shipping, it's not much more than the CTD all-in prices before Obama.

I also bought an LCP today at the Gun Show in Mesquite. Got a couple of boxes of PMC FMJ for $25 a box from an ammo vendor there.

Since I started foraging for ammo in mid April, I've only seen 2 boxes of .380...2! That was 2 weeks ago at the shooting range at Winchester Gallery in Ft. Worth. $37.95/box. That seems to be the most scarcest caliber of them all.

If I had a gun in that caliber, I'd definitely order it online, and expect a pretty long back order time, forget about it, and continue scouting for it on my own.

Try Whitecastle they are pretty fast at shipping but you have to buy 500 rounds at a time.

If you are near Texas City you may find T's Guns and Ammo on Loop 197 has some....they had some up to last week for sure.

You may have to check the guns shows; several vendors had 380 ammo, small quantites, but they still had some. Highest price I saw was $75 for a box of 25 Hollow points, I think they were black talons....FMJs ran from $23 a box of 50 to $30 for a box of 50.

When I got my LCP last spring, I couldn't find ammo either. I bought some from online auctions at very high prices, simply because I could not find any in DFW. I have managed to find a few boxes around and bought them, some reasonably priced, some not. I have had more luck finding .45ACP and .380 at the local gun shops (Ray's and Bachman) than at Wal Mart or Academy. I just won't shoot it much until ammo more available and affordable (unless I hit the lotto or an inheritance!)

Was in three different Academy stores in San Antonio Saturday (25 Jul 09) morning. Found the quickest way to get the gun counter guys to laugh was to ask, "got any .380 ammo?" They all thought the question was a hoot. One guy said they got in a case of Federal .22LR 40 grain solids (500 round bricks) and he expected to be sold out of that by noon. One store did have an LCP and the sales guy almost convinced me that it had boomerang properties, since, with no ammo, all you could do would be to throw it at someone. Nice to know some folks have kept their sense of humor.

Maybe (?) it is starting to loosen up. I found some .380 yesterday at a Wal-Mart. I bought two 50 round boxes of FMJ for about $23.50 a box. I still had a couple of boxes left from a purchase I made a few months ago (paid more then), but did not want to be a pig by buying more. When I left the store they had about 15 boxes on the shelf.

Well I guess if someone tries to rob me while I am carrying my LCP, I am going to have to think about whether the money in my wallet is worth more than the ammo in my pistol. Might be cheaper to just hand over the cash.

I just bought an LCP this week, and so far have no ammo for it either. It seems more than a little silly to be carrying a weapon with no bullets in it! :cryin
