Ruger LCP Range Report

#1

Post by USA1 »

finally got to the range with the LCP

WWB 95 grain FMJ
Remington Golden Saber FMJHP
both functioned perfectly through the LCP.

i started out using the almost nonexistent sights and it is surprisingly accurate.
then i decided to practice real world defensive shooting .
drawing from the pocket and firing with double taps and rapid fire .
some times as close as 6 feet other times about 10 to 15 feet .
i was able to hit the silhouette mostly center mass every time .

The LCP is a great gun for the pocket .
while at the range , there was couple there that both had LCPs
these little guns must be very popular .

all in all , i'm very pleased with it and now i have full confidence that it can do what its intended for .

Good post USA1! :tiphat:

How many rounds of each type did you fire? I'll bet that thing is a joy to shoot, and so concealable.

You chose well, young Skywalker. ;-)

I've been thinking of going out for an LCP hunt this afternoon. Wonder if my Academy still has one?! I have .380 ammo and no gun! I have to correct that problem.

Winchester Gallery had both a new one and a used one last week when Lonewolf & I were there. I think the used one was $295(don't hold me to that), and the new one was $345, I THINK. As I wasn't in the market, I didn't pay much attention to prices.

The prices seem to be widely varied. I got mine a couple of weeks ago at Academy for $219.00.
If the 2nd admendment only applies to muskets and muzzle-loaders, then the 1st admentment must apply only to the spoken or printed word. Printing must be done on hand presses, news stories must be written in longhand, no keyboards or electric processes may be used.

30 rounds of target ammo and only 6 rounds of SD ammo

i'm low on the SD ammo , so i really just wanted to test it in the LCP

BTW , i also fired my .45
thats always fun

as a side note , i met the owner or manager (i'm not sure which ) of Shiloh and hes a great guy .
he is a member here as well .
he gave me a 25% off my next visit card .

P.S. the dummy in the next stall over shot through the cable that holds the target . :eek6 "rlol"

Oh that's so scary. That's the primary reason I go during off hours, or when the crowds are next to nothing.

Great range report! It definitely is a popular gun. I have one as well for a pocket gun - I was considering getting the CT Laser for it. Thanks for the range report!!!

Anybody have thoughts on the CT Laser for the LCP? Experiences?...

I have 2 LCP's I purchased for $210 each last August after waiting 2 months for them. In my opinion, it is NOT a pleasure to shoot at the range, but it is my daily carry and for that purpose I have been very pleased. In a life threatening situation, you'll never hear the sound or feel the recoil anyway.

Small pocket holster and no matter what I wear, jeans, shorts, whatever, it conceals perfectly... Now I just need to save up some money and put a Crimson Trace LG431 on it! :patriot:
