USA1,
You're going to make me paranoid of everyone I see with a camera!!!
I have to admit to washing my car on occassion, but I CLEAN my Harley. The wife insists on it. I get the evil eye from here if the whitewalls are'nt clean enough and the spokes aren't shiny.....
(I shouldn't have written that, now USA1 is desperately hunting up a picture of some old beat up bicycle that has been run over by a semi truck....)

Not that I would keep anything stirred up, but I couldn't find a wrecked motorcycle to e-mail to USA1!

You know what they say: "If it don't go, chrome it." I think it's legal to replace "chrome" with "wash the heck out of".lonewolf wrote:USA1,

Have some pics of my bike after a crash that I'd post if I knew how to.

I used to work at a carwash in SA. Lots of cash on hand for the employees from tips, lots of things to buy on the spot...

Purple,
I tell her she needs to get a real motorcycle! Of course when I do that I usually end up celibate for the night.

Re: No. 1 place you'd never go unarmed...this carwash
I was first in line with several cars behind me and an older Corvette passed our line and pulled into an opening slot. I looked at the driver and, naturally, said "There is a line waiting." Exiting the car, in wife beater T, shorts and flip flops, unshaven was a chap who (to me) looked like he ran women or such for his occupation. His response as he made a roundabout trip by me to the wand was "What are you going to do about it?"
Well, I wasn't going to fight Mike Tyson to wash my car. Wish you had been there

, one of the problems we have in our society is that we do not have a way to handle the jerks that seem to be everywhere. Outright crimes can processed through the legal system, but "jerkiness" isn't a crime. Whether the jerk is someone who is driving like an idiot, or deliberately wears obscene tee-shirts in public, or deliberately jumps a line (like at the carwash), if an individual confronts him/her, there is a high probability of escalation as most jerks don't like being shown the error of their ways. And the (innocent) individual could be at risk of being arrested or worse. And the jerk gets to go merrily on his way.
It has been written that the decay in manners of a society is an early indication of the downfall of that society.
I have at times confronted those who have grossly breached the public sense of good manners.
But I do consider the circumstances.
It's a jungle out there, folks.

Re: No. 1 place you'd never go unarmed...this carwash
that sounds very similar to by experience this morning .
i pulled into McDonalds for a #3 ...bacon egg and cheese biscuit combo , which i might add hit the spot .
anyway , there was a line in the drive thru of about 5 cars . i was next to pull up and order when this car with two younger guys came from the opposite direction and tried to cut in front of me .
as they were inching closer expecting to cut in when the line started moving , i inched up letting them know they weren't getting in front of me . so there we are practically face to face . they were giving me the stink eye , but i held my ground .
as the line moved up , it was obvious that the next car wasn't going to let them cut either .
so they put it in reverse and burned rubber to demonstrate their anger .
they ended up going around and getting in line like the rest of us .
moral of the story ...don't get pushed around .
and , bacon egg and cheese biscuits are yummy
