Saturday, I noticed that I was going to the restroom quite a but more and it got me wondering what was wrong. My wife noticed it as well. I went to bed late that evening and woke up at 3am in the most horrendous pain I could ever imagine. My lower back was hurting! I thought I may have tweaked my back, so I got up to stretch and it only got worse. I tried to lay back down and the pain was blinding. I woke my wife up and told her there was something very wrong. I tried to see if I could go back to sleep but I couldn't. I finally decided it was time to go to the ER. Not an easy decision for me as I have a pretty high pain tolerance and I'm more of an "Advil and Sleep" kind of guy.
Anyways, come to find out that it was a Kidney Stone. My diet, combined with my sedentary lifestyle all created this perfect storm.
The pain cannot be put in to words. Suffice to say, there were times I was almost passing out in pain.
So let my pain be a lesson. PLEASE stay hydrated. Drink lots of water and juice.Lay off the soda and junk. Stay hydrated!
I never imagined, at 30, that I would get a Kidney Stone. I still have yet to pass it, but the pain is much less now. There is nothing quite like it to make a grown man cry and completely change his diet and lifestyle.
