Born out of the country?

If so, you should consider including some documentation of your citizenship status.

According to the letter DPS sent me, the following things are acceptable documentation.
  • "copy of U.S. passport"
"copy of U.S. certificate of birth abroad"
"evidence of a citizenship or naturalization certificate (Alien Registration number)"
"copy of a resident alien card"
    "other official documentation of citizenship"
I FAXed a copy of my Birth Certificate to them when I received the letter and it doesn't seem that there was much delay in the CHL's arrival as a result, but sending the information up front would probably have sped things up and reduced hassle.

This was on a RENEWAL, so don't assume that because you've never had to do it before, you'll be ok this time too...
Do you know about the TEXAS State Rifle Association?
