Cool, thanks! I was hoping someone would want my business. I shut down my PalPal account a few months ago.

Me too. After reading about Paypal's anti-gun stance, I closed my account. I think I'll check out this gearpay stuff.

Excellent! I hadn't closed down my PayPal account... just stopped using it (it had a $0 balance anyway). I hadn't closed it just on the off-chance there was something I needed it for, so this looks like a promising alternative!

Paypal's anti gun view is not good, but what they don't know, won't hurt them!!!

I keep a $0 balance on my account. Whenever I do pay for something gun related, I just e-mail the seller to let him know that we will use non gun related words, and no auction #'s for the transaction. Works every time.

I agree with everyone's opinion of paypal and I would like an alternative. But I've tried Gearpay twice now and they are too slow for me. They do not accept credit cards (as of last month) and eChecks take 10 days to clear. That's too long for me.

I know paypal uses the ACH method for check clearing. I wish Gearpay would adopt this method since it checks your balance to confirm funds availability and immediately clears the transaction.

I don't plan to use Gearpay again until they find a way to speed things up a bit.

I may not agree with Paypal's position on guns but they still offer the convenience needed for private sales. Just don't say anything about guns. Call it a used laptop or a cam shaft.

+1. I've bought all sorts of stuff online and rarely do I list what it is. Its all "Goods" to Paypal.

Exactly, it is all "Goods". Why does paypal care what people are paying for anyway????
