Speeding Tickets affect CHL?

#1

Post by Chuck_wall »

This may be, and most likely is, a stupid question. However, I haven't been able to find a direct answer and I'm just trying to make sure all bases are covered in getting my CHL.

Can speeding tickets, 1 a year ago (defensive driving) and 1 three years ago (deferred adjudication), affect my CHL app?

Thanks

No, Class C's like that will not affect it.

:iagree: Even if the speeding ticket is unpaid, goes to warrant and you are arrested, taken to jail, fingerprinted and photographed, and processed in as "booked".

Of course you have to provide DPS with complete explanation and "disposition" of the offense but it doesn't disqualify you from getting a CHL.

It's not a stupid question at all. I never can keep up with "Class C" this and "misdemeanor" that. If speeding tickets had been an issue, my son would have been out of luck. We're scheduling surgery to have the lead removed from his accelerator foot. :totap:

Don't worry TLynn, it's something he naturally grows out of when he reaches age 50.

That is true for most 'indiscretions' in my case. All my wife does if I start to suffer any 'road rage' is simply say "CHL, CHL, CHL" and all that rage just goes away.

It took too long and cost too much to get to lose it that easily! :thumbs2:

The new stress relieving mantra. "CHL, CHL, CHL" :iagree: :smilelol5: It's also a nifty speed reduction regulator.

I've observed this effect and I'm still waiting on my CHL. I didn't anticipate this welcome side-effect.
