The scenarios that get presented in these threads never have enough information in them to give an honest answer yes or no. You have to have not only your own mental line in the sand, but your own well thought out set of go- no-go criteria for an armed response.
In some instances, I might take out the robber. In others, I might just be a good witness. It all depends.
