I checked there yesterday and saw the home defense type stuff but it was all priced too high for me. The Gold Dot at $40 a box isn't bad but I've been hunting for "range" ammo--the stuff under $20 for a box of 50.RPB wrote:ammuntiontogo.com has quite a bit/ a decent selection of .380 brands of hollopoints and others in stock....or did yesterday, and I got it by UPS today, I left a little for y'all.

Wow...if someone had told me a year and a half ago that 20 dollar a box 380 is rage ammo...I would have thought they lost their mind. I really hate Obama...I am talking a deep hatred. Similar to how one feels about Satan...Obama's twin brother.gir wrote:RPB wrote:..................... hunting for "range" ammo--the stuff under $20 for a box of 50.

Yeah, cheaperthandirt and lots of places are cheaper, but they all said "out of stock"
I actually ran across the .380 there by accident while looking for .32 which I haven't found at any price in a year, My True Value hardware store has .380 hydroshoks for $16. a box ..... but looks like times have changed since all that 1980s/1990s ammo I had which was 6 to 8 bucks a box. At one point last year my local pawn shop owner was offerring to buy a round, ONE ROUND of .32 hollowpoint from me for $5.00, but I didn't have one to spare..... sheesh.
And NO Social Security Cost of Living Increase this year for the first time in 35 years or so because of NO INFLATION ????????? I guess we are all just imagining higher prices..... If cigarettes ever get up to costing a dollar a pack, I'll quit before the government taxes. . ..... I miss 24 cent a gallon gasoline before the government taxes. .... I guess the billions in Title X and Medicaid and Grants to Planned Parenthood the Government gives them with our tax money is worth it though. Planned Parenthood intends to open a six-story, 78,000 square-foot abortion facility in Houston, Texas, so they need the money.

Re: ammo on sale
Academy in Tomball has tons of .380
Its Monarch 94gr. JHP for $ 16.97 a box of 50
I didn't notice that it was JHP until I got it home. I was just so happy to find it that I didn't bother reading the box.
I think they also have Monarch ball ammo for $ 13.97.

I read on another thread that someone found .380 at Academy , so I went down to my local store and there it was.
Even the clerk was surprised they had it in stock. He said they must have just got a shipment in.
While there , I noticed that every caliber was well stocked. A nice change from just a few months ago.

Re: ammo on sale
Sportsmans Guide has some ammo with good prices...yes...you have to order it and wait...but to my pleasant surprise...they almost always deliver. Anyway...they are sending out this coupon code in emails SG1051 . It is for 10 bucks off a purchase of 99 dollars or more. Not a lot but everything helps.

I do agree with you but I don't know if we'll ever see those prices again.03Lightningrocks wrote:ARGHHHHH!!!! They have conditioned us to accept being throttled!!! Personally , I think with the increase of .380 pistols being produced and sold and the people willing to pay a premium price for the ammo to feed them , we are stuck with results of supply and demand...for now.
When I saw all that .380 on the shelf , my eyes glazed over because I needed to replenish my supply and I didn't know when I'd find it again.

Re: ammo on sale
Ditto.
Yesterday I got (delivered yesterday from an online store)
Hydroshoks
Gold Dot
DPX (though they seem to hang in my magazine, a little long for .380)
Buffalo Bore 100 grain +P Flat Nosed
and the two I'll actually carry ...
MagTech Guardian Gold 85 grain +P JHP
Buffalo Bore 90 grain +P JHP
Tried the NEW DPX 80 grain +P JHP in my NAA Gaurdian .380 and other .380s too .... seems to be a hair longer and my magazines like it less, hangs in the magazine of the NAA Gaurdian .380 and other single stag mags too
I'll try it in a doublestack gun like Taurus PT-58, but I won't be buying any more DPX .380

Re: ammo on sale
I texted my son who lives down there. He needs a box or two of 380. he has a Kahr380 that is acting up a bit and he needs to try a different ammo in it for feeding problems. Anyway...he just called and said the Academy he went to near him was out as of this AM.USA1 wrote:I do agree with you but I don't know if we'll ever see those prices again.03Lightningrocks wrote:ARGHHHHH!!!! I fear you are right about the supply demand issues. i think I liked it better when only a few select folks had guns... Less competition for ammo and range space. Two years ago I could go to my local range darned near anytime I wanted and have the place to myself. now I go and there is a waiting list.

Re: ammo on sale
I just got back from Academy at Loop 820 NE & Hwy.26 in North Richland Hills(NE Ft.Worth), and I got 2 boxes of Monarch .380 FMJ's for $14.99/box of 50(limit 2). No JHP's. First .380 ammo I've purchased since 1983. Sticker shock didn't set in because of the $25.95/box of 50 I paid for Federal 9mm in April of last year.
I was TOTALLY willing to pay the $14.99. IMO those are inflated prices but by no means price gouging(like the 9mm I paid for last year). I think prices will still come down another 10%-20% but that's about it because of the permanent much higher level of demand. Time will tell. But gone are the days, of the $5.00 box of 50, no matter what caliber(excluding .22 of course). And it goes without saying long gone are the days where I used to pay $2.50 for a box of 50 mil surp .45 acp. But admittedly that was before many of you were born.
That Academy store was well stocked with every common caliber, pistol and rifle of various manufacturers.
Just finally glad I have some .380 to shoot! Yipee!
