wait time with deferred adjudication paperwork

#1

Post by dcm »

I sent my CHL packet along with the court disposition letters the last part December. I received my PIN on January 7 and the statuse has been on processing application since that time. If DPS has questions about paperwork do they contact me? Should I anticipate a longer wait since there is court paperwork for them to investigate? Thanks

Hi dcm, welcome to the forum! Glad to have you with us. There's a wealth of information here at your fingertips and a great bunch of guys & gals to get to know.

Actually, sending in the disposition and detailed explanation will speed up the approval process, IMO. I think it speeded mine up. And if they have any questions, they will send you a letter, and it will be referenced on the website saying something to the effect "incomplete or missing information. Letter has been sent".

In any event, applications are being approved very quickly. Last summer it was taking 4-5 months. So it's really gotten a lot better.

Thank you for the information and for this forum. I am impressed with the posts and replies that I ghost read before signing up. I'm from the Lubbock area and travel throughout Texas extensively. I've been waiting to be able to apply for CHL for a while now and look forward to getting the process completed.

Welcome to the forum dcm :tiphat:

As Joe says , it looks like you've done everything right so far.
Just check your on-line status often for any changes and you should be good .

Hope your wait is a short one. ;-)

Just an update:
I received my plastic at the end of February. I checked with the DPS when the application had been on "processing" for two weeks. The process was shorter than I had anticipated. The state actually moved effeciently!
