What is your Number 1 Poltical Goal other than Gun Rights?
Examples Lower Taxes, Better Tax Plan, Term Limits, Healthcare reform, Tort Reform?
I'm not sure, I tend to be all over the map when it comes to politics. I guess right now my number 1 goal is getting America out of Debt and controlling inflation

Gridlock. As long as there's gridlock they're not passing any new "law." As long as their not passing new law, they're not taking any more of my money or rights.

Instead of WASTING money on pointless wars, trying to buy friends where there are no friends and being the world police and benefactor, put that money into domestic Social Security for Sr's. and Medicare for all.
How hard is that to understand?
P.S:
If there is any money left over, bailout Lehman Bros. as was done with the others who have received money that should have gone into the above domestic programs.

How hard is it to understand that the Constitution does not authorize Congress to spend money on health care but it does authorize Congress to spend it on military operations?

OldGringo for President! Seriously, very good points. And most valid, IMO.
And how do we accomplish that? A turn to a more isolationist policy on the international front. Let's protect ourselves first. Both militarily and economically.
And steering toward a more Laissez-faire economic model on the domestic front. It's been shown time and time again that Keynesian policies don't always work in our collective best interests(an understatement).
Ouch! My brain hurts now.

Since Section 8 didn't go into effect until March 4, 1789, that would have been kind of difficult wouldn't it?marksiwel wrote:Wait what about Nasa, its not in there. Also there's no mention of the Airforce!

You are correctbdickens wrote:The Constitution doesn't give any rights.

"In other words, people’s rights don’t come from government or from documents that bring government into existence. They come from nature and God. They exist independently of government and the Constitution. That is, even if there were no federal government and no Constitution, people would still have their natural, God-given rights. Such rights preexist government. "
The government is also under no duty to educate you, provide you with safe drinking water, safe food and drugs, pave the roads, or feed you.
So why do we have one in the first place?

Right On!bdickens wrote:The Constitution doesn't give any rights.
The Constitution defines and limits the powers of the Federal government.

Re: What is your Number 1 Poltical Goal other than Gun Rights?
Correct. It presupposes natural, or "God-given," rights to exist, and it enumerates those rights. But it does not grant them. There was even a rather significant debate between various founders as to whether or not a bill of rights ought to be included — one side arguing that to enumerate them would be to put them at risk because of government's natural tendency to violate them; and the other side arguing that if they were not enumerated, government would routinely violate them. But both sides of the argument understood that these rights exist; that they predate the existence of the Constitution; and that it would be the tendency of government to violate those rights.bdickens wrote:The Constitution doesn't give any rights.
