Re: Concealed Carry and Worrysome Family
Fortunately, my hometown was Baltimore, Maryland. So, no need to worry about what my family thinks about my CCing in Texas

Re: Concealed Carry and Worrysome Family
I didn't read the whole thread, but I think when I get my CHL (any day now!!!)... I would make sure my parents are OK with me CC'ing in the house. If they aren't comfortable with it, I won't do it, out of respect for their household. My GF's mom is a smoker, and she is not allowed to smoke in our home, and she's fine with that in respect to our place. I would extend the same courtesy to our families.
If you find yourself in a fair firefight, your tactics suck.

Re: Concealed Carry and Worrysome Family
No worries for me, both my parents already have their TX CHL.

Re: Concealed Carry and Worrysome Family
I'm 28 and have been carrying for roughly a yr or so but more religiouly here in the last 4 months or so. My folks
know that I have my CHL and that I carry. I've been around guns most my life and have been in the service so they feel better knowing that I have "formal training". Dad doesn't care so much and mom took some work but she's is comming around. The first time over to thier house carrying I had my full size CZ .40 OWB, I took off my jacket and there she was in all her glory, now I'm open carrying in thier house. They were both a little suprised and asked why I bothered carrying at thier house. My answer was extremely simple...you never know when you'll need it and I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Odd thing is my first gun memory is with mom letting me shoot a tree with an old pump action .22 that I still have to this day. I just continued to carry in front of them at thier home(and in public with them and them knowing I was packin) untill they just got used to it and realized that if they see me they can count on me being armed as well and that they can trust me with a gun around them. I also quoted a couple things for her that she completely understood and helped her understand my mindset. 2 of em were "I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried 6" and "I don't shoot to kill, I shoot to stay alive".
If you follow the link below to the bottom of the page you can find alot of pro-gun quotes that are pretty good.
