Shiloh Indoor Shooting Range, Northwest Houston

#1

Post by Rob65 »

This may be redundant, but I just wanted to give a shout out to the guys (and girls) at Shiloh Shooting Range in Northwest Houston (http://www.shilohshooting.net).

I just started going there a few weeks back, and the entire staff was great to work with. They treated both of my sons (17 and 15) with respect and helped them. They didn't treat them like a couple of teenagers. The facility is well run and prices are fair.

Thank you, Jeff, Tracy and the rest of the team at Shiloh. You have a new long-term customer, and I highly recommend y'all try them out as well.

Oh, yeah. Check them out on YouTube.

Shiloh is my favorite place to shoot.
I've been there with my wife, son, mom, and even another forum member.

The best part is they're about 15 minutes from my house. :thumbs2:

Closer to 249 @ 1960.

Hotwells is OK, but they have the 2 second rule..no rapid fire.
Plus they only allow round targets.

Shiloh can get busy sometimes, but you shouldn't have to more than 15 or 20 minutes to get a lane.
If you hit it right you can pull up to the door and commence to shootin.

+1 for Shiloh. They staff are pleasant to work with and very friendly.

They have an indoor range that is quite nice - you can control your own target in your own lane.

I've taken my wife, and several friends there. The last time I took my wife was on a busy Saturday - the parking lot was full, as they were having a CHL class. But even with the full house, they managed to find a lane for us to get right into. As we left, my wife commented on the relative lack of females there, but that she felt quite comfortable despite that.

Also, they don't charge per gun, so it's more affordable than Hotwell's for those with multiple guns.

Great place!

Since we're talking about Shiloh..Anyone take the CHL class there?

It seems like there's one happening every time I go.

I guess I need to go check that place out.I'm so tired of ASC.
Even if it is a pretty good drive from Sugarville ;-)

Shiloh is just around the corner from where I grew up and where my mom and step-dad still live. We get down there 3 or 4 times a year. Been inside, but never shot there. Seems like a first-rate place. Compared to other indoor ranges I've been to (the one in Pasadena - name espcapes me, one near Bush Airport, and of course both locations of Red's in Austin area) it is by far the newest/cleanest, but probably one of the smallest. Definitely want to go shoot there sometime though. Last time I shot in Houston, me and my buddy just went to Carter's Country because we wanted to fire .223 rifles also and I think Shiloh is limited to 25 yard distance? Someone correct me if I'm wrong about this.

Do I understand correctly from previous posts that double-taps/rapid fire are OK at Shiloh? What about holster draw (I can't imagine they'd allow that).

IIRC the Shiloh guys are members of this forum. I remember a few years back when they were starting Shiloh they posted a good about it.

I do all of the above.
They have two areas to shoot.
One right up front with a window between the store and the range.
The other is down a hallway in the back where you're pretty much alone
to do the holster drawing as long as you don't act dumb about it.

There is a window there also. It is between the office and range.
