Beretta PX4 Storm SC CCW

#1

Post by Litig8tr »

I have a Beretta PX4 Storm SC I would like to use for concealed carry. Unfortunately, I haven't yet found the appropriate holster and carry location. I'd appreciate hearing any suggestions you might have. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

Welcome to the forum...

I carry a Crossbreed Supertuck Inside Waistband Holster everyday and am very pleased with the results.

Here's a link to them:

Also, a quality gun belt is very important for concealed carry. I got mine from Crossbreed as well. But, there's many other selections to choose from.

That's just what suits me. Good luck and keep us updated on what you decide to get.

Thanks very much for the nice welcome and your response. What position do you carry the weapon in? I read on the CBH website that the Supertuck Deluxe is not recommended for crossdraw or IWB appendix carry.

I am right handed and carry at 3 or 4 o clock. Do they provide reasons why it's not good for either carry position? Maybe because of the size of the holster?

No, not that I saw on the website.

My preference would be to carry IWB RH side at 3 or 4 o'clock. That is how I typically carry my PPK. However, I don't know if that will work for my PX4 SC. The IWB holster I already have is terrible. My concern is that no IWB holster is going to be comfortable enough for CCW with the PX4 SC. I'm open to other carrying possibilities as well.

What holster are you using now? I was pleasantly surprised to find that using a Comp-tac M-Tac inside the waistbamd carry was quite comfortable.

I carry a Taurus 24/7. It's pretty close to the same size as the Storm. I don't think you will have have any problem with the Crossbreed. The pistol sits pretty low in the Crossbreed so concealability will still be there for bigger weapons too. I work 10 hours days and move around quite a bit while working and the crossbreed has never got uncomfortable for me.

It is an inexpensive Falco (Slovakia) IWB.

The Crossbreed S/T takes up a lot of "real estate" on the waistline - ~9". Some body sizes/shapes can easily accomodate that; for others, it's a lot of space that it takes up, both width and height.

You might consider our (K&D Holsters) Maverick Defender. It's a compact, wrap around style of holster. It has an adjustable cant on it. That means you can use it for the common behind the hip carry, appendix carry, or crossdraw carry. All you have to do is loosen the screw on the belt attachment piece, rotate the piece, and tighten the screw back down. I've made it a number of times for the PX4 SC. I've also made it a number of times for the Springfield XD SC, which I would put as a comparable in size gun.

I personally use this same holster carrying a Para Carry 9. I have also used it for carrying my PX4 SC. I'm a slender build and do not like any extra leather for my personal holsters.

Has anyone actually used the MTAC with a PX4 SC?

I'm getting ready to order and MTAC for the PX4 but it is for the FS and Compact. When I called they told me they don't have that gun to test it with but they have had people tell them it works fine.

Thanks

I carry a full sized PX4 in a Super Tuck at 4 o'clock. I typically have some kind of undershirt between the holster and my skin, and have carried all day with no problems. I have even fallen asleep while wearing it on a couple of occasions.

I use 3 different holsters. However, I mostly use a Fobus paddle holster. Hope this helps.
