As Diode said, you're already waiting, so pull up a chair! (And, from what I've been able to discern, it seems that waiting for the PIN takes about half the time in most situations.)

Yes have a seat. BUT, don't get too comfortable. There is a lot of work to do while you wait. Get your carry rig ready. Wear it at home to get over the "am I printing" syndrome that some experience. Get used to the feel & weight. Practice at the range. Access & presentation. Shoot. Target practice, reloads, clearing malfunctions. Practice talking to the BG. Most problems are not shoots. Practice cell phone access. The wait is not near so boring & stressful if you are doing productive training.
Welcome aboard. ;-)

PIN

Called this morning and got my PIN from the nice lady.

This afternoon it reads:

"Processing Application"

They signed the certified letter on july 27th, so 25 days to PIN (I have not received hard copy).

When I mailed my paperwork it took 3 weeks for the processing aplication to change. So that seems to be the longest delay. I received my CHL in about 35 days total. July 17 to Aug 21--- Seems like they have got things going a little faster than last time. I'm good now until 2011 if the world last that long. We need more people to sign up and get their CHL. Better voice in Austin....

Called this morning and the nice lady said call back next week, she should have background checks back from Travis and Williamson counties by then. I guess the processing time is improving.
