I'm a computer geek, so fashion, to me, is blue jeans, a grey or black T-shirt (normally with Aerosmith or Metallica emblems), and hiking boots (In case a mountain suddenly sprouts up inside the server room).
Currently a pull-over hoodie, since it is cold out.

I don't think I can bring myself to wearing a Hawaiian shirt, yet...

I am a computer geek myself. I have on the dark tshirt, jeans and hiking boots.

I am carrying a sig P239 in a Minotaur IWB with the tshirt tucked. You can't tell that I am carrying.

When I carry on my belt, I carry OWB most of the time these days - and that includes concealing a full-sized 1911. Think "long shirts." For IWB, I use a Minotaur MTAC from Comp-Tac. The advantage of this holster (and others like it) is that you can have one holster with different holster bodies for different pistols. Mine has bodies to fit a 3" 1911, a 5" 1911, and a USP Compact .40.

For OWB, I have two Galco Concealable Belt Holsters, one to fit my 3" Kimber and one to fit my 5" Springfield 1911s. And, I have a Desantis Speed Scabbard for my USP Compact.

When I'm not carrying on my belt, I'm using a Galco Miami Classic II shoulder holster rig. I use this system as much as possible because chronic back issues make belt carry an uncomfortable proposition on a lot of days. Depending on what part of Texas you live in and what the weather is like, I can wear this system even on a lot of hot days by wearing a light fishing vest over it, with a t-shirt underneath.

TAM....you and I have similar carrying tastes. With that lead in I have a question for you. Have my eye on the Galco Miami....Cabella'sonly has the original with the spare clips facing down. I think I prefer the clips on the Miami II that face forward. However the only place I can find the newer model ison the Galco site at a premium of 20 to 30 dollars. Can you shed any light on the position of the clips since you already use this rig?

I also use the MTAC and love it. I use that to carry all day. If I am at home and just want to throw on the holster for a quick trip to store, etc. I use the Infidel with the large clip. It works well and is quick. Doesn't wear as comefortable as the MTAC but your family doesm't have to wait on you to "redress" yourself.

I also carry full size 1911's. No composites. All steel and heavy. I currently am not carrying OWB but I do not see that as an issue given the many choices of holster and reviews here.

I bought the mag holder with the horizontal magazine pockets. The reason I did was that it seemed more secure to me, without giving up anything in access to the magazines. In fact, the vertical holders require unsnapping a cover to remove the mag. The horizontal ones rely on a good fit. They work fine. I have mag holders and holsters for both my 1911s and my USPc. They both work fine. I just swap them out in the harness when I switch carry guns. Both holsters rely on a thumb snap for retention and cocked and locked carry.

Thanks for your input! The horizontal is the way I am leaning. Just need get over the 20 extra bucks and order it. Out of all the shoulder rigs I have looked at...the Galco seems to the best quality.

I carry OWB all the time. Glock 19 in a blackhawk serpa. An untucked T-shirt or polo shirt covers it just fine, and nobody seems to be able to tell. A couple of guys interested in getting a CHL (like my pastor today - I was very pleased to discover that despite coming from new york state, he's very pro-guns-in-church) have asked about concealing methods, I'll show them (in private, of course) and they'll mention how they couldn't tell.

Then again, there's the time I was getting out of a cramped car, got my shirt caught on something, and flashed the buddy standing next to me (would have showed any IWB carry too, so don't get uppity). So I've learned to be conscious of it..

Doesn't have to be a jacket. As a computer geek, you could probably get away with a loose T-shirt and an unbuttoned short-sleeve button-down over top. (this is what I often do on weekends - can't carry at the office.) Sometimes I'll leave the T-shirt untucked so there are two loose layers of fabric over the pistol.

Also, -where- you carry on/in the waistband can have an effect on how hard/easy it is to conceal.

My MTAC holster arrived a few hours ago.

So far so good.

I see a few mistakes already.

I ordered the standard 1.25" belt clips, so tucking in the shirt is difficult. So for now, I guess I'll have to buy some "A"-shirts and wear an over-shirt, untucked.

I'm wearing directly on the hip. I had to lower the holster, because, when I would sit, the gun would dig into my ribs.

I believe my fat belly will be an asset (for once). The gun seems to hug the side of my belly. I've tested with an over-shirt, and it is indistinguishable.

I haven't tried to sit in my car seat yet. I'll post when I do.

I'll post a review in a few weeks.

Sorry no review yet. Work has been keeping me very busy the last two weeks.

Haven't really had a chance to wear it. Also I started to doubt that I made a good purchase. Since I was wearing it at the 3 o'clock position, it was just very uncomfortable, and had to buy a larger size pants to accommodate it there.

I've had to make some adjustments to the cant, and so far the most comfortable position is just slightly to the right of my cheek. I guess this is the 4 o'clock position. I was able to wear this with my regular sized pants. I will need to buy a slightly longer belt.

I hardly know it is there when I stand up. I do notice it when I sit. I tend to have to keep my back straight. Even when I lean back, it is only slightly noticeable.
After moving it there I feel much better about the decision to buy this holster.

Just because of it's position, I have a few minor issues reaching for and putting away my wallet. I'm sure I'll learn to deal with this efficiently with practice.

Again, this is the MTAC for a Glock 22.

Hopefully I can post a full review at the end of next week.
