I wouldnt cut ANYTHING with that knife, I would keep it in a safe.
right now I use my sog to
Cut boxes, cut random branches in the Apt Complex, take staples and tacks out of the targets the the range, to cut paper. To cut string/twine. Take apart boxes. Cut Wire. Peel an apple (clean it first).
I figure worse comes to worse, I can pick up another one or get it sharpened for 10 bucks.

It won't do much good locked in a safe at home. Anyway that's only 3-4 boxes of ammo these days.

I had no idea that Spyderco knives (any of them) were made in China.

My Delica is made in Seki City Japan.

I think only a small number of Spyderco knives are ChiCom manufacture but I think most or all their budget brand (Byrd) are ChiCom.

Yeah, a few days late, but I thought I'd toss in my 2c. I've carried at Cold Steel Voyager for years and love it. Never slipped in my hand, cut everything I've put it to and keeps an edge. I personally carry the 5 inch tonto blade version, but they do make smaller. It's my every day user and abuser. Love it!

Here is the 5 in. version pictured next to a Kimber 3" for size comparison. As mentioned, they do make smaller.

I have been addicted to knives since the first one my father gave me at eight years old. I have spent a fortune trying to find the perfect knife, and I finally settled on my favorite two. The Spyderco Police and the Spyderco Endura. I like the slick stainless versions with a little grip tape applied.

I carry mine everyday and use it too. When I bought mine the price was only $180ish

I couldn't be happier with my CRKT M16-14SF. Great blade, good size, tip up carry, and you can pull the emerson wave trick.

CRKT also has great customer service. A few years ago, the thumb stud fell off my knife, and I sent it in for repair with a short letter. They e-mailed me the day they got it, and sent me a brand new knife along with an apology soon after. It took less than a week from the time I dropped the broken knife in the mail, to the time I had the new one in hand.

There going to the auto locks system which I would disable if you get the knife (mine's old and didn't come with it).

Asking a guy what kind of knife you like is like asking do you like blonde, brunette, redhead, petite, robust, etc.

That being said, I purchased one of the original cold steel fixed bladed Tantos. (more than a decade ago) I don't carry it because it is impractical but it is an AWESOME knife.

I carry a teflon coated Gerber all the time (small, but I wear a suit all day)

Cold Steel makes awesome knives. I have a few, but they are too large for my daily carry. I have never been let down by their quality tho.

Cold Steel TiLite. The four inch version is a legal five inches in Texas when the full blade is measured behind the hinge. Opening spur works well for right handers when pulling from pants pocket. Very high quality steel. See a similar knife in action on the Discovery Channel in the battle between the Al Capone and Jesse James gangs. A very informative show that was aired Tuesday night. If they show it again, it's worth watching. Old School James held it's own.
