So as I understand it, we should expect to wait about two weeks from mailing before the CHL site updates to show that our stuff has been received and is in processing. Does that sound about right?
yes, and then in total the average, without any delays in processing or needing more information is about 35 days or so, from DPS actually receiving (not status finally showing) until plastic.

True enough, but every 3 hours has some effect.......

Hello, this is my first post to the forum as well. I have been lurking here for about the past couple of months researching the chl process. Being new to this whole thing, I didn't really have anything to contribute until now. I took my CHL class on May 22nd and mailed in the completed application on June 1st (the day after memorial day).
I'll just have to wait patiently now and cross my fingers that the ink fingerprints I sent are acceptable

Welcome Tony. What part of this great state do you call home? Where did you take your class?

Thanks for the welcome. I'm from South Texas near the border. There is a range/shop near my home that offers the class. Its pretty hot down here in the summers, so I am currently considering my conceal options.
I notice your from Grapevine. I lived up in Mesquite for about a year. I miss the DFW area.

It is nice up here. I haven't been able to carry out in the heat yet but I just got a Crossbreed Supertuck and wearing it around the house I almost forget that it's there. I hear it's comfortable all year round. Can't beat their warranty either.

nah, just about 5-6 weeks ago, i was in your shoes
teamless has been a great help here in the waiting room as one of the few that's recently received plastic and still hanging out with us here.
Teamless was one of my main supporters also. I don't post as much as I don't log an as often, but I am sure that there are more lurking in the shadows. I would like to publicly thank Teamless for his undying support and advice that he continues to give. A big Texan salute to you my friend.

I hear a lot of good things about the CrossBreed. It is on my wish list. I definitely need something cool as the summer temperatures can be 100+ here with 80%+ humidity for weeks at a time (the beach is only 20 minutes away). At the moment though I'm trying to decide on the perfect sidearm (if there is such a thing).

Dang that's humid! The CrossBreed is avalible in horsehide and I hear that's great (eh, better at least) for hot and humid areas. Can't help you much on the perfect side arm lol, there's too many to choose from.
I've got a crossbreed in horsehide for my XD-45 compact, it is quite comfortable (around the house that is...)
