HEB hop today

#1

Post by slinco »

I've had my plastic for maybe a month now but never really carried in public-local hardware store once. Made my first trip to HEB today, like everyone else I reached up, reached down, loaded beer on the bottom of the cart....I felt just a little self conscience for a few minutes but by the time I left I was totally comfortable with it.
People really do not notice. I had my G27 in a Supertuck and looking down even I could'nt see it!
I defected from Kalifornia about 9 months ago, now I am like a kid in a candy store.

Thanks for a great forum. I have been pouring through it for 2 days now! :cheers2: Thanks for all the good info-I'm gonna go buy me a Kimber :anamatedbanana

glad you got out there and carried, it is amazing how well the supertuck (or minituck) can hide a weapon so well.

I was at the HEB today, too. I thought that was you that I saw. You were printing pretty bad and it looked like you were carrying some sort of Glock kind of gun. :smilelol5:

Thanks Joe, I'm in Bertram/Burnet-moved here to retire and just love it. Country living is new to us so we are still adjusting to the wildlife here, bugs, snakes, scorpions, huge spiders! Sheesh, we've never seen stuff like this

slinco:

Welcome to the Lone Star.

Since you now have your plastic, "best practice" is to carry 24/7.

Wouldn't it be ironic to have your CHL, but your Glock's at home when
a need for it arose?

By the way, has your bride gotten her CHL?

22% of all last year's new Texas CHL's were women. She can mosey over to
this forum's "Women's" sections and get the 4-1-1 (information) on how the
ladies pack their heat.

SIA
N. Texas LTC's hold 3 breakfasts each month. All are 800 AM. OC is fine.
2nd Saturdays: Rudy's BBQ, N. Dallas Pkwy, N.bound, N. of Main St., Frisco.
3rd Saturdays: Golden Corral, 465 E. I-20, Collins St exit, Arlington.
4th Saturdays: Sunny St. Cafe, off I-20, Exit 415, Mikus Rd, Willow Park.

I'm working on her. I found a womens CHL class for her, now I just have to get her there!
After seeing snakes and wild dogs around here she's a little more motivated.

Soooo that was you that bought all the ammo at Hoovers just before I got there? "rlol"

Just kiddin' I'm in Burnet/Bertram/Marble Falls area too.

Welcome to the forum and welcome to the hill country/area

I frequent Bowles Muffler shop/slash/gun store in Marble Falls sometimes and I need to get over to Horseshoe Bay there's a gun store I haven't been to yet.

See you at HEB, that and the bank, and the new Walgreens, were my first walks back when I got mine too till I got down to WalMart :smilelol5:

Get you some poison n make about a 10 foot band around your house and that will take care of any critters gettin' in the house.

Bowles muffler shop/guns is across from WalMart's gas station in Marble Falls.
When I buy something online from gunsamerica/gunbroker etc he does the FFL paperwork for about $20.00; not a big store, but he has some interesting things in stock sometimes; nice fellow.

The pawn shop in Burnet has an FFL there too, but they pretty much are sold out of guns since Barry Soetoro got elected President by deception. " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I just spent the last 9 days in Horseshoe bay. What a nice area to retire to. Between me, my brother-in-law, and another in our party, the HEB was well protected while we were reloading our food and beer supplies.

I did see a good sized gun store in Horseshoe bay but did not get a chance to go in.
