Video:Drunk Dallas PD gal shoots car floor w/ankle revolver.

Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

The above link contains a short text story and a 2:24 dashcam video
from Dallas PD cruiser 6014.

It looks like she will be an "EX" Dallas police officer very soon.

More proof 46.035 should apply to LEO same as CHL. Especially 46.035.d

Holy cow! :eek6

I would hate to be one of the other officers in this incident as it was happening.

EDIT to add: "This is why only drunken female cops should have guns.... wait, what?"

I think the Leo On duty and the drunk LEO are romanticly involved she calls him zach and you can just bearly hear him say he doing this because he loves her("because I love you"). Right around 55-57 sec into video.

I was wondering exactly your point. Does 46.035d NOT apply to an off-duty LEO?

No, Kraglover, 46.035d does not apply to police officers. Note the beginning clause of the sentence "A license holder commits an offense". This makes 46.035d, as with all of 46.035, apply only to people with CHL's.

suthdj, not saying that you're wrong, but I've told countless drunks that I love them in an effort to calm them down. :cheers2:

Being on a first name basis with your co-workers doesn't seem too out of place to me either. Oh well, it'd be nice to know for sure, one way or the other.

After the elections, I'm writing to the winners to say the 51% and intoxication rules should apply to everyone equally. I'm also going to send them the video to show why.
This will only hurt a little. What comes next, more so.

I don't know, the way she is speaking and crying leads me to believe that there is something there even without his comment and it would explain why he would drive her home instead of jail. Now don't get me wrong if LEO's want to have relationships with their co-workers that is their business. But it sure would be nice to know.

So, if you or I was drunk and had the police called, what are the odds that we'd just get a free ride home? Secondly, if we pulled out a weapon and fired it in the patrol car... what are the odds that we would, not have been shot, killed or beat up and only be facing a "misdemeanor weapons charge"? I'm giving you and I a smaller chance than the ol' "snowball's chance in Hades"

So many errors in judgement... with all involved, drunk and sober.

I read in another article that they apparently were dating or had previously been involved with each other romantically.

SO?? Even if they were.. it doesn't change the outcome. I still see it as officers helping out a fellow officer; something they clearly stated. What would the public benefit from knowing such knowledge? Other than drawing perhaps conclusions that could be far from the truth.
