croosbreed VS. Comp-Tac

I was wondering if there was bigger of a difference between the two, beside the price and how quick you can get one faster than the other. and just any other comments you have about them (opinions).

I have had a Crossbreed for about 3 months, and have just recently received my first Comp-Tac Minataur.

Pro for Comp-Tac - the hardware is covered by leather on the back, so no bare metal of the fasteners that hold the Kydex or Clips on touch the skin.
- the Crossbreed does not have that, but the metal fasteners are not a real issue, just a comment that I think Comp-Tac saw a possible issue and covered it

Pro for Comp-Tac - once you have the leather part of the holster, if you get a new gun, you can order just the Kydex for a smaller cost that the full holster and interchange the Kydex
- with Crossbreed, a new weapon = a full new holster at $80 (if you want Horsehide)

Pro for Comp-Tac - 2 weeks from order to delivery
- Crossbreed was 4 weeks

Pro for Crossbreed - the leather portion covers the belt clips completely.
- Comp-Tac - the belt clips rub my side as the leather does not cover it. It is very irritating.
- once I got used to wearing a holster, I did not need an undershirt with my Crossbreed, but do with the Comp-Tac

As I said, i have only had the Comp-Tac for a short time, so others may have more comments to share

I have both for our his and hers Sig P250's. I agree with all above comments and will add a couple. The Crossbreed in horse hide doesn't stick as bad to you if you don't wear a t shirt tucked in. Another plus is if you order the regular cut you can trim as necessary if you want a modified combat cut for easier draw as there is no hem line and don't forget the lifetime warranty.. i did have to send mine back for a cracked kydex shell and it took them 4 weeks to get it back. All in all both are very comfortable and its a tough choice, I had the crossbreed first and ordered the MTAC so my wife could choose which one she liked best. She still isn't ready to carry a large gun on body. Good luck on your decision.

I have the Comp-Tac Minataur for my glocks and I can were it with or without a tee shirt. I haven't tried the crossbreed, but why I choose the MTAC was because of the extra layer of leather and the fact I could buy a different shell if I wanted to fit a different gun. Since I'm new the CCW, I'm sure other guns will be inside my belt, but I least the MTAC Slide will handle any of them if they are of the Glock 9, 40 or 357 family. Sicne I got a Wilderness Tactical 1 1/2" belt, It is very comfortable all day with or without a tee shirt.

I had both for my Glocks, and have settled on wearing the Comp-Tac full time for all of the reasons above. I have personally set mine to ride lower so the belt clips do not go below the leather and do not irritate me at all. I also always wear an undershirt, but I do not think you would need to with this holster. 100% of the gun is protected by the leather. I would also like to add a couple of pro's:

Pro to Comp-Tac
- The belt clips are thinner and no not have a large design on the front of each. When wearing concealed, the thinner clips blend more, especially when you are wearing brown and put on brown clips, or black with black.
- The Comp-Tac has a larger variety of clips to suit various concealment needs.
- There are local Comp-Tac dealers that you can visit to put hands on the holster and also buy different belt clips without needing to pay shipping.

I have an MTAC, my wife got a Crossbreed minituck. The only thing that seems aggravating about the minituck is the metal clips. The MTAC is easy to put on and take off, the minituck is kind of a hassle because the clips are like a vice. I'm not sure why the felt the need to make them so strong. It makes sliding it around into position pretty much impossible and because they are so tight it is a pain to take it back off and move it if it isn't in the right spot. They also aren't adjustable for cant.

It would be nice if you could use the MTAC clips on the Crossbreeds, but I'm not sure if that is possible. Other than that they are pretty comparable in quality and functionality.

Yes. You can order just the MTAC clips from the web site and use them on the crossbreed. The MTAC clips are thicker so you might have to get longer screws for it.

Thanks. Both this thread and the linked one are very helpful.
