Re: Poll: How many rounds do you carry?
FivenSeveN loaded 20+1 and three spare magazines. Bond Arms derringer in SOB holster, 2 rounds .45lc and 6 extra rounds lose in my vest pocket. 89 rounds total. I would much rather leave all that at home and sling my rifle, but the law won't allow it.

Re: Poll: How many rounds do you carry?
Thanks guys for your input! I carry one extra mag for a total of 13 rounds. I'm trying to find out what's best and reasonable for myself and I don't have any problems with others preferences when it comes to carrying extra ammo. I do worry about the divisional line between practical reality and mental scenarios.
I would still like to see the "shots fired" stats on actual gunfights by CHL holders.

Re: Poll: How many rounds do you carry?
I carry thirty rounds. 14+1 in my handgun, 15 in the backup mag. The backup mag is there in case the one in the handgun fails - apparently it's one of the more common points of failure, and I don't intend to discover if that's true the hard way.alpmc wrote:Again, being very new to CC...........can anyone please explain why you might have a need to carry (30+) so much ammunition? I feel like I might be missing something.
Are there any stats posted anywhere on the net that shows data detailing the number of shots fired by a civilian in a justified self defense shooting?

50 rounds for G21sf, (3 mags + chamber), 30 rd Pmag on belt (sometimes) and 20 rd PMag in cargo pocket.
After work I trade it all in for a single stack .380 :)

I really think that is going to become a personal decision on what you are most comfortable with. I dont think there is a right or wrong decision.alpmc wrote:Thanks guys for your input! I voted 25 but that could be a miscount I am using the LCP for my summer carry 7 and 3 x mags @6. Math was never my strongest subject.

Which law? I thought the law did allow the carrying of long guns openly.karder wrote:FivenSeveN loaded 20+1 and three spare magazines. This will only hurt a little. What comes next, more so.
Re: Poll: How many rounds do you carry?
Really? For some reason I thought that long guns could not be carried concealed except for being transported to and from. I know that gets a bit sticky, but basically I didn't think someone could carry around a concealed long gun as they just went about their day shopping or getting lunch or whatever. I have nothing to back that up. It is just what I thought.Cobra Medic wrote:And concealed. http://www.originalsneakybags.com/C-dub wrote:Which law? To keep this somewhat on topic, if this were true and we could carry a concealed long gun I would need to do some shopping and my round count would definitely be 50+.

Re: Poll: How many rounds do you carry?
I carry a tactical messenger bag, its a small pouch(bigger than a fanny pack) with many pockets/loops etc. I keep over 100 rounds with a few loaded mags. the only reason for the excess is because this doubles as a personal item carry and a small range bag/CCW holder. I can go everywhere with this bag and slip into the range for a 50 round session when ever I feel like it.

Re: Poll: How many rounds do you carry?
If I'm carrying one of the 1911's, the answer is 8.
If I'm carrying the CZ, the answer is 15.
If I'm packing the range bag for a trip to the range, the answer might be 300 or more, depending on whether one of the 22's is going along.
