Glock vs. 1911 - Good vs. Evil - Jedi vs. Sith

#1

Post by A-R »

OK, this whole thread is just for fun razzing of each other over our preferred choice in handguns so that we can stop bothering everyone else's threads.

Some have called Glock "The Dark Side" ... so be it ...

Look TAM, I'm kickin' your butt with my vastly superior Force skills :biggrinjester:

Of course, since the 1911 is much older and grayer (stainless, nickel plated, etc) shouldn't it be the Evil Emporer and Glock is the young Jedi apprentice come to save the day?

Personally, I prefer Han Solo anyway "hokie religions and ancient weapons are no match for a (Glock) at your side, kid."

Continuing with the theme, I guess all the pocket .380s are Ewoks? And snub-nose revolvers are the Jawas?

Maybe a Browning HI Power is Yoda? After all both the Hi Power and the 1911 use The Force (John Moses Browning), but the 1911 was seduced by the dark side (Colt) and the Hi Power remained pure ....

OK, so this is like Mad LIbs ... y'all fill in the rest of the story (and no, as great as Chuck Norris is, he was not in Star Wars, so keep him out :biggrinjester: )

...

I picture Jar Jar Binks carrying a Glock! He could tear up an anvil, but NOT a Glock!

p.s. I hope the real estate market here in Austin improves quickly! Because you have way too much time on your hands! :biggrinjester:

Are you serious? Jar Jar would have an AD right out of the box! He wouldnt break a Glock maybe (tho he is the one dumb enough to be able to do it) but he would lose it or have it taken away and be beaten to death with it.

Obiwan I think would be a 1911 guy. Vader....you know Darth Vader probably has every Glock model hidden on his person and under that cloak of his. Yea i know they use lightsabers but still.

Darth Maul would use double Glocks.

Wasn't the emperor pretty ugly himself, just like a Glock?
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

My next gun will be a Pocket Death Ray. I hope to get on with the purple ray as I think it will be so much cooler than the standard red. I am undecided about whether the chrome model or standard blue will be the choice. My thoughts are that the purple ray will reflect really good off of the chrome. I guess that makes me a Jedi?

I think we should leave the .380 to Princess Leia. An LCP would fit quite nicely in those cinnabons on the side of her head. That gives a whole new option for women to conceal carry. Maybe the Ewoks should stick with a .22 like a Ruger.

C3PO...a Wilson Combat maybe?

That's 'cause he's afeared of the mighty .45 ACP.

I've always thought of Darth Vader as more an HK kind of guy. Han Solo has a 1911 on one hip and a Single Action Army Colt on the other (he likes keeping the "old stuff" running). Chewbacca is a grenadier. The Imperial Storm Troopers are Glock guys. They need to keep it simple because they confuse easily. Obiwan does like the 1911, but all Jedi warriors also have a .357 snubbie hidden under their robes. Jabba the Hutt carries a Highpoint .380 because it matches his sense of style. Lando Calrissian favors the Vector CP1. Luke Skywalker is a M1A guy.

Good thread topic, austinrealtor!

Good thread topic, austinrealtor!
I think the resistance would use glocks and the imperials would use 1911's, for the simple reason that the resistance can't afford the $300 500-round break in period for the 1911. Obiwan would have said, "Your father's Glock. This is the weapon of a Jedi Knight. Not as clumsy or random as a 1911; an elegant weapon for a more civilized age."
