Pasadena Gun Show, Aug. 14-15

#1

Post by denwego »

I've been to plenty of gun shows in the past in central Texas, but I haven't been to any in the Houston area or any run by "Real Gun Show" as the organizer. How's the general beef-jerky-to-guns ratio? I'll be going either way, but it'd be nice to know what's the deal in advance.

And if anyone else is going, I'll try to say Hi and start putting faces to names in the local area!

This gun show is good, but the high caliber gun show later this month will have more vendors.

I haven't been in a while, but in my experience it varies from show to show. Some months it's good and others it's been a bust. But what the hey, if you have a free day on the weekend, it's usually a good entertainment value for the money. It beats paying $12 to see a lousy movie. And you get to eat good jerky and summer sausage rather than over-priced popcorn and sodas.

my B-I-L wants to go, we will be there on Sunday. But its my experience that the "Real gun Show", isn't. the "high caliber" is much better, when it comes to guns. the "real" has a lot of other items (at least the last 2 I have been at)

Well, all that's sort of what I figured, but it does beat a movie so I'll be there nonetheless. And thanks for the heads-up about the High Caliber one later in the month; I skipped the one in Houston at the end of July because of the location and non-free parking, so the Pasadena local is vindication!

I am not sure if Bachmann or AJC Sports are at this show, if so, check them out.
I bought 1 XD9sc from Bachmann 2 months ago for $429 (came with 2 magazines, paddle holster and double mag holster)
then 4 weeks later or so, I bought the same thing (in green polymer to differentiate between mine and my wifes in black polymer) for $419
Both + tax and cash.
Debit is 1% and Credit is +4%

If they are not at this show and you see prices exceedingly higher, give it 2 weeks, wait for the next High Caliber Gun Show (normally every couple weeks anyway -i'm too lazy to check their website right now) - and get with Bachmann or AJC.

Happy selling and buying!

It was more like the Real Pasadena Knife and Jerky Show.
Total waste of $7.00 IMO.

At least your user name is appropriate for the "real" show in Pasadena.

As stated above, this is not the "good" one to go to, this one has always has more "stuff" and less weapons.

Pasadena show = waste of time. Order it off the internet or just wait for the Conroe show if you want to visit what guns shows used to be. The Houston shows are neat, but the price of admission and parking cancel out any savings you might find.

I got back a few hours ago, and it wasn't a complete waste, as I did manage to find the SUB 2000 I've been looking for at a good price. Beyond that, though, it was a disappointing show. I'll probably end up going to the High Caliber one at the end of the month anyways.

Sorry you guys didn't like the show. Sometimes, it's better. IMO, the selection and quality of the knives is lacking. The only knife I ever bought there was a kitchen knife. But, that's okay, I like to cook.

I need to save more than $15-20 to feel like I got a deal. If I can't get better savings than that I will order off the web save my tax money for shipping and transfer fees. I like the High Caliber show at Reliant Center. Its really big with lots of vendors and I think it keeps them a little more competitive in price. Especially if it something like a Glock or any other plain jain out of the box firearm you can get anywhere.

Lately I have just gone to the High Caliber show at the George R Brown convention center or the HGCA show at Reliant. Both are very big with some choices.

On deals, the only real deals I have ever seen at gun shows are on new pistols since they sell a LOT of them. Everything else is just see what you can see. I

The big ammo vendor from near Brenham is usually at those shows also. http://www.ammunitiontogo.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

They usually mark their prices up at the shows though.
