Fry's in Mesquite!!! Good News

#1

Post by scooter03 »

Well I returned to Frys today, and guess what, NO 30.06 posted anywhere on any doors or walls when walking in. Unless I missed it they do not have it anymore. This helps out alot of CHL carriers. They used to have it but not now that I could tell. I even had my Dad look with me because I couldnt find it. Good news!

Wow.
Capt. Observant here; I don't ever remember seeing one at that store...

Although, based on their service, I can see *why* they would want to restrict firearms...

I've been to Fry's at both the Irving and Arlington stores and there has never been any signs, 30.06 or otherwise, posted. I carred at both, no problems. I have been to the Mesquite store, but well before the CHL, and don't remember seeing it posted.

I have been to the one in Arlington and Irving. I do not remember the 30.06 sign at either location. It has been almost year since I have been there.

There is NO Fry's in Mesquite. There is, however, one in Garland.

I have been racking my brain to remember where a Fryes in Mesquite is!!

There is not one in Garland, either.

The one listed on Executive in Dallas is right on the edge of Garland. That's why I have always thought of it as being in Garland.

Yes this is the one I was talking about, and sorry I caused a big confusion about where the store is.

The most important thing is, they do not have any postings of 30.06. Yes they used to in the past. Maybe they got the hint that it would be better to have protection in their store than not have any at all.

That is Dallas. North of LBJ is Garland.

That Fryes sits on a site that YEARS ago was the Dallas/Garland airport.

The Frys on Northwest Highway in Dallas hasn't had a sign since they installed new front doors a year or so ago. The sign was attached to the old door and glasss that was removed. But I don't think that the old sign was 30.06 compliant.

The Fry's on the North side of Houston has a no guns sign, but it is nowhere close to 30.06 compliant, so I ignore it.
Remember, in a life-or-death situation, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

AFAIK, the Fry's in Austin has never had a PC30.06 sign.

Funny thing - several years ago, shortly after obtaining my CHL, I was carrying a BHP (IWB) in the store. Standing in the long, slow-moving checkout line I was, naturally, talking to some other folks in like predicament.

Suddenly, one guy looks at me and asks, in the most stereotypical hillbilly accent imaginable, "Y'all wouldn't happen to have a GUN, would, ya?"

I froze . . . did my shirt ride up?

Am I "printing?"

Did someone bump up against me?

Why is everyone looking at me?

So I replied, "Why do you ask?"

"Cause if y'all was to SHOOT me, I wouldn't have to stay in this here line any more!!"

I patted myself down and said "Damn, I KNEW I forgot something this morning!!"

Lots of laughter all around . . . IF THEY ONLY KNEW!!!
