My wife and I may be paranoid (OK mostly her), but this happens about once a week. She wakes me up saying that she heard a noise in the house, or outside her window, and asks me to check it out. I grab my nightstand gun out of its safe, along with the Mag light (and usually one of the dogs), and go take a look. Hasn't been anything weird yet, but its good to know that she is such a light sleeper.

On rare occasions she will hear something outside before we go to bed, and I have gotten practice drawing from carry position in those cases.

The only thing I see you did wrong was buying something from HEB. We don't shop there anymore since they don't respect our 2A rights.

Why do you say that? Because of the Austin gun show problems? Or something else?

Austin gun show. The APD and ATF had no legal ground to stand on whatsoever until the HEB rep caved. At least that is the last thing I heard.
