Since the UT incident yesterday ... TV just showed both candidates being asked about guns on campus, in a nutshell the responses were:

Perry: Statistics show that guns in hands of well trained backgrounded individuals reduces crime

White: It should be left up to each individual campus (to say no... or yes,) [creating a hodgepodge of confusion and conflict of where you can and can't]

The law currently allows for schools to set their own policy--if a college wanted to allow CHL holders to carry to class they could do so by putting that in their policy manual. None have chosen to do so.

So White supports continuing the status quo, which is for all practical purposes a ban on school carry.

Bill White is fully aware Universities would not allow CC. They are way too dominated by the elitist liberal attitude. I think his statement clearly shows what he thinks of the Second Amendment; it is up to the establishment to decide if you have the right, when, and where. I think he will do all he can to hold back the Campus Carry bill and any other pro-gun legislation if he is elected. PLEASE vote against this guy and influence anyone else you can to join you. The most recent polls are alarmingly close.

I think that's one of those old-fashoned things where they used to print outdated "news" on sheets of thin paper, and sell them for small amounts of money. This obviously took significant amounts of time, and therefore the "news" was totally out of date by the time it got to the public.

If I'm not mistaken, these archaic forms of disseminating information were replaced by town criers. The news was alot more current because there was no longer a need to print and distribute tons of paper. The main positive of the old system was that the establishment could control the flow of information to their subjects, thereby keeping them content and avoiding displeasantness like getting thrown out of office for utterly failing to do anything you were elected to do.
