Concealing in workout clothes
Hope I posted this in the right section. I'm waiting on my CHL and ordered a supertuck for when I wear jeans and boots in the colder months but in the hot summer months I typically basketball shorts. Anyone found a successful way to conceal with these on? I'd rather not wear a fanny pack but realize that might be the only option.
Thanks,
Chris
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Concealing in workout clothes
I think I'd prefer a belly band, rather than have the gun nestled against more delicate parts. The other advantage is that my draw-stroke training works with a belly band almost as affectively as a regular holster:

I use a Camelback

Holdover from my military days. Noone thinks twice about it, and it has a pouch inside the front zipper that a walther P22, XD9 or any small frame auto / Jframe fits into, due to the shape of the water bladder inside the reare compartment, this internal pocket is nearly invisible, but accessable easily.
Also convenient for carrying water.

Re: Concealing in workout clothes
Are you wearing basketball shorts because its hot, or because you're working out? My two cents?
If its just because its hot, suck it up and wear some real pants with a belt and a good holster.
If you're working out, then try a fanny pack or maybe the camelbak goblin.

I'd suggest a P32, P3AT or a NAA Black Widow on a neck lanyard.
I lean toward the stainless NAA due to the sweaty environment
With a long lanyard you can position it under your arm.

I regularly carry my LCP in a pocket holster while wearing "athletic" type shorts. Just make sure it has relatively deep pockets to prevent exposure.

My workout shorts have elastic AND a drawstring
I carry in a Rip Cord holster (Comp-tac clips) http://www.concealedtechnology.com/S_Clip.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I carry a lightweight Diamondback DB380, locked breech, with the OLD .380 +P Corbon and Buffalo Bore ammo.
I also have the same holster for a Taurus PT-709, but it depends what the workout is ... loose drawstring on shorts and the heavier PT709 can make for embarrassment unless you wear suspenders too.

Thanks everyone for the input. I think I'm gonna go with can2's suggestion. I do long distance running and a lot of time I'm out in the middle of nowhere so it would be good to protected.
Thanks again.

Re: Concealing in workout clothes
I like the belly band. Just know, you don't want to wear it directly against your skin. It will make you sweat, and the elastic does not absorb the moisture, so wear it over an undershirt. It also needs to be tight. If that bothers you, then you won't be comfortable.
All that said, I still like the belly band. It conceals well, and the gun is more easily accessable than with the Thunderwear or SmartCarry.

Re: Concealing in workout clothes
When I bike I carry my kel-tec in a fanny pack.
Best one I've owned so far is the Bulldog pack. Cheap just google it and one will turn up somewhere. Mine only lasted about 2 years, though. Bought a replacement at the last gun show, but this one is some other brand and is a little much (a whole bunch of pockets) for what I need.
Running, gym, cycling....fanny pack isn't out of place those places.

Re: Concealing in workout clothes
I carry a Kel Tec P3AT in .380 almost everywhere, kinda like my wallet and keys. I have had to modify it a little by filing down the magazine release button because it protruded way to far out and would sometimes eject the mag while I was walking around, not good.. In addition I had the guns metal parts refinished by Vanden Berg Customs including the slide, slide clip, barrel and even the magazines due to rusting. It is a compromise on a a larger caliber but it is the gun you have on you that works the best.

Re: Concealing in workout clothes
I have a smartcarry and use it higher than is recommended - more at my waistline so the top of the smartcarry sits just behind the top of the pants or shorts. I also move it so the holster section rides to the right of center.

Re: Concealing in workout clothes
If I thought my exercise place was so bad that I had to carry my weapon I would find another place. I don't carry my weapon in my house either.
