Re: Pictures Of Your Daily Carry
Just got the new mag pouch....
Gun: RIA 1911A1 "Tactical" .45 ACP
Holster: Comp-Tac Minotaur
Mag Pouch: Desantis
Magazines: Chip McCormick Shooting Star
Ammunition: Hornady JHP 200 grain
Not pictured, I almost always have a pocket knife. Not really as a fighting weapon, although in a pinch I'm handy with a blade.

Nice additions. You carry that RIA condition 1? I carry all my 1911 in C1.

Yes, condition one.68Charger wrote:Nice additions. You carry that RIA condition 1? I carry all my 1911 in C1.

There are only two ways that a 1911 should be carried. Condition one or condition three. Dropping the hammer on a round in the chamber is dangerous and irresponsible.[/rant]

Re: Pictures Of Your Daily Carry
In fact, I would go so far as to say C1 is the only rational way. C3 is not fast enough if you really need the gun. And C1 is absolutely, perfectly, safe. It is no riskier - in fact, some would argue less risky - than carrying a striker fired pistol in C1 without a safety. It's just that the sight of a raised hammer is a psychological barrier to some that they just can't get past; even considering the thought of a cocked striker, which is just as much of a "risk" as any cocked hammer. It just doesn't occur to them because the striker is "out of sight; out of mind." I have nothing against striker-fired pistols. I own and carry one myself from time to time. But I don't actually know anyone who carries a 1911, myself included, who carries it in any other manner than C1.jamisjockey wrote:Yes, condition one.68Charger wrote:Nice additions. With practice, though, condition 3 can be pretty freaking fast. My Utah CHL instructor carries is glock in a fanny pack, condition 3. I've seen him in action with it....and was astonished at how fast he was able to draw, work the slide on the draw, and fire.
That said, I always carry condition 1.

I shot WWII headstamped ammo about 5 years ago through a 1911. Functioned flawlessly.

I saw on PMSNBC that Black Talons will jump out of your gun and randomly kill cops, children, and minorities.

Re: Pictures Of Your Daily Carry
Going large this year for the cold weather carry. Here's my new Beretta PX4GSD .45acp with my KaBar and EagleTac T20C2. Just put the adjustable sights on the PX4 and really like them. The flashlight is among the best I've ever owned and the knife still has to prove itself but so far, so good. I'm using a CrossBreed Supertuck and a pocket mag pouch but I may get a mag holster for teh belt as the .45 mags are a bit heavy. Of course, the Insight M6 is only on at night when it's on the nightstand and the shorter mag fits flush with the magwell for carry. This one is also loaded with 230gr Winchester Rangers..........
