Well gentlemen, I checked my status and found that my background check has been completed and apparently "pending manufacturing" means they are printing it. Should be soon!

Plastic in hand! Now to find a cheap-o IWB holster for my XDM until I get my crossbreed in.

Congratulations. Let us know more as you get some more rounds through it.

Welcome to the forum
Great choice on the XDm. I have an XD and love it. I want the M at some point. It really is a great gun.
I will say that I love and shoot nothing better than my 1911. I have a 5" Springer and once I got it down (took as long as getting used to any gun) I could hit anything. So, don't throw the 1911 idea out just yet. Plus it is the most comfortably gun to carry IMO and is much easier to conceal even with an OWB.
Congrats again on the new gun and new plastic!

I didn't take my CHL with Tom, but I did meet with him to give me some gun basics and let me try a bunch of his guns. Great guy, and great shooter. I found the same thing, I liked the 1911 and Browning High power, but I was most accurate and comfortable with the XD. I ended up getting an XDM9.

I got my plastic right after Christmas, but still don't have my Supertuck (I ordered too late). I've been using the paddle holster that came with the XDM. As long as you wear a jacket or a long untucked shirt, it works well. Ive worn it to the store several times, and wore it on my 8 hour drive to and from Florida. I wear an under shirt and put the tab inside my belt and jeans and it's comfortable and stable.Dekansnowman wrote:Plastic in hand! Re: New member and Tom Estep student!
I just took Tom's class saturday (1-15-11) and have been reading the Forum as he suggested, I enjoyed his class and the Arms Room. I actually pass 2 different gun ranges that i used to shoot at regularly to get to the Arms Room but the extra drive is worth it when you compare the facilities. Looking forward to the day i have the "plastic" in my wallet !
