Welcome kotd. Good luck on getting your plastic soon. You've come to a great forum.
Let us know how long that card takes to get to you. Hang in there.

You better post some pics of that SA 1911. It's mandatory. If you don't, TAM will tar and feather you.

Been lurking a while, got a CHL shortly after moving to TX. Had one in my previous state as well (NY, yes they do exist and no you don't have to be connected...I sure wasn't!). Here to learn some more from like minded people.

Are you following us? (Or are we following you?) :eek6
We moved to the (much) greater Austin area from NY (Buffalo area) ourselves a few (ok, over 4 now) years ago. Feels good to get out of NY, and into "real America", doesn't it? Good to have you on the list.

Howdy

Well, lets see about the introduction bit.

I'll hit 40 sometime in the all to near future...
My wife and I will celebrate our 20th anniversary this fall
We have 4 daughters (The oldest joined her school's JROTC rifle team this year and is wondering why she didn't start on it her freshman year)
We're technically in Houston, realistically in Clear Lake
No CHL or Carry/otherwise gun (yet). But hoping to take care of that in the near future.

I hadn't fired a round since college until late last year when I realized how much I missed just going out to the family farm and plinking/hunting (granted, that was all rifle/shotgun). Given the number of ranges in the area, I don't see too much reason not to work on my aim with something with a smaller barrel. And with the oldest daughter even more enthusiatic than I am, my wife is finding her attitudes towards things that go boom a little more relaxed. (She spent her formative years in Colorado and wasn't around things that go boom like I was)
