Bed Bunker - Safe in a Bed

Take a look at the Bed Bunker.

Cool idea. A BG would find it, I think, because most would probably look under the mattress.

But I like the concept.

Saves floor space of a freestanding safe.

It looks like a fairly heavy duty safe, if quite expensive.

Looks like one of those 'better on paper' ideas. Also, does the bed frame support its weight?? That would be a lot to ask of most bed frames.

If I used it, it would be for something besides guns... documents maybe... either way, too expensive for its purpose.

1,450 pounds..... 3/4 ton... EMPTY.!
I have to assume that the safe sits on the floor and the bed frame goes around it...
That's how it appears in the photo...

They sure do like it a whole lot for $4,500... Woo-Hoo.

How often do you access your safe? You could significantly shorten the life of your mattress pulling it off a couple times a day.

For $5k I could probably convert a closet into a safe room.

For the price, the locks and bolts seem pretty cheesy.

Oh yeah, my wife would just love me dumping her out of bed whenever there's a noise in the house (or before leaving to go shooting/hunting in the wee hours of the morning). I don't believe they thought this one through!

SURELY you don't have all your guns, including your nightstand gun, locked in the safe all night?

This safe is for backup/overstock.

Actually, I need a bigger safe but don't have any place to put one.
I'd buy this if the price was about a fourth what is listed.

The comment was more tongue in cheek. But there are times when I leave early in the morning and need to retrieve multiple rifles from the safe.

That said I do have put my nightstand gun in a safe (one of the single gun types with the pushbutton combinations) when the little ones come for a visit.
