US Marshall dissing a 92

#1

Post by wgoforth »

Was watching the Wesley Snipes movie the other night, US Marshall. In it, Tommy Lee Jones asks this Fed, "You have a sidearm? Lemme see it." Fed pulls out a shiney Baretta 92. Jones says "Throw that sissy gun away and get you a Glock." I like a 92 and have the Taurus PT92, but just thought that was funny.

Doesn't he call it a chrome plated sissy pistol or something like that?

Wonder if Glock paid to have that line added to the movie?

Just want to clarify that Gerard did not "dis" a Beretta 92... it was a Taurus PT945... which is indeed a sissy pistol. Only the incompetent dis the 92. *obviously im a big fan of the movie... and the Beretta... and the Glock. * :cheers2:

I love the way he holds the weapon. Like it is some sort of nasty, slimy little creature.

Back in the day, I had a Taurus 92AFS. Shot well, ate everything I ever put in it, never, ever had a problem with it......Back then funds were tight and it was the most bang I could get for my buck...Now I own a Beretta 92G and still have no regrets.

I have shot two glocks, no real opinion other than the fact I have an appreciation for a machine that does what it is supposed to do every time with minimal hiccups...... :patriot: :txflag:

I doubt Glock paid for that line. Glock can't make them fast enough as it is.

I've watched that movie several times...Sam Gerard loves to rack the slide on his Glock. He does it every time he touches it.

Well, you can see the Tauri's in my owners list below :coolgleamA:
I know your kidding and no offense taken, but the 24/7's are excellent guns. Went through shooting school with one, shooting 2,000 rounds without a hiccup!

Yes...While that is true today, when US Marshals came out, the public opinion of Glock was not what it is today. I remember many many people (LEO's included) that refused to carry a "Tupperware Pistol"

Just glancing on TV that was what I thought it was. The still shots above reveal it to be a Taurus 945.

Movie makers like doing that with pump shotguns too. They show a guy walking around with the gun at the ready as he searches the area for the bad guy, then when the bad guy pops up from around the corner, the GG always pumps the gun before firing it. "rlol"

You can watch a whole swat team about to storm into a crack house. Every one of them rack a round as they announce to each other... READY? "rlol" Everyone knows that cops and good guys never keep a round chambered. :iagree:
