OK, that makes good sense. I suppose I was a little jumpy because I have seen quite a few people here ask about a completely non-compliant sign and think for whatever reason they might contact the establishment and explain to them that their sign is not correct!

If it is just a gunbusters sign or something far off, I wouldn't even bother listing it.

Good work on the site by the way.

Russell wrote:For the "What is a 30.06 posting?" section, do you guys think I should provide what the actual wording should be for a fully compliant 30.06 sign? I would hate to have the site become fairly large in the future and have a business owner visit it, find the exact wording, and post a fully compliant sign. That would kinda of be "shooting ourselves in the foot."

On the other hand, it could help teach fellow CHLers what to look for in a fully compliant sign.

What do you guys think?
Just post a link to the dps website.

excellent idea.

I think the idea of ooh, we don't wanna give'em no ideas, cause thens they's be postin' right, and then I can't carrah mah gunses, is just trying to get by on a technicality. comes across as juvenile. not singling ANYONE out, I'm just saying the perception I get.
everyone's already said if somewhere has a sign, they won't go there, so really, this attitude of ooh, ooh, I'm getting away with carrying cause this sign don't count just makes me laugh.

Russell,

What about posting the requirements that are required for us to obtain the CHL?

Maybe, if some anti's stumble across this site, they could then read about what the requirements are( I doubt that they'd investigate for themselves as a whole).

Maybe then they'd start to understand how respectable a CHL holder really is and why they don't need to "lock us out."

Just a thought...

It's a good idea, but one I doubt would work. They simply won't read it. They (Anti's) tend to ignore (IMHO) any evidence that they may be wrong.

other threads.
great site, btw. I don't think a business that cares that much about posting the correct sign as to research it, will come to your site and simply go epiphony! but I think you have gone about it in the right way.

no listings in Lewisville, eh? good for me....

I probably can get enough out to get in trouble, but I'm not a coder - I'm a people person at the end of the day (no offense programers).

What is spare time? I haven't had that since....grade school maybe?

Yeah man, I'm swamped with stuff, but if I get free I'll let ya know

I just added 2 more TC's in Round Rock. They built a new one on 79 so I went there to get some food for the family. Instead of driving through I was going to go inside to make sure they got my order correct. When I got to the door I saw the sign  ! Well I wasn't carrying but it ticked me off so I left. I then decided to goto the other Round Rock location on 35 because I had never seen a sign there and I always look. Well guess what, they have posted the darn sign now also!
Well needles to say my family didn't get their tacos! The thing that gets me is they put up the 30.06 but then they also put up the "unlicensed possession" sign. :confused5

so, yeah, had to go check out the Taco CabanaRama near me.
yup, it was delish. I had the 3 Taco Combo with two beef/crispy tacos, and one bean & cheese taco (on their hand made soft tortilla). it was wonderful.
and yes, they had a legal, and conspicuously displayed sign, which cracked me up, cause I had a nice long convo with a local Copper late one night. We were talking about how Lewisville has gone all to ______ in a handbasket as of late. I showed him my CHL and said, "yeah, that's why I got this dude." Joe Law said not a thing about the place being 30.06'ed, but instead, we talked about guns for a while
after his food was finally made (they were short staffed this night) he bid me a good night, a "be careful," and we parted ways.
ah, well.
