8:53 am
Committee meeting isn't listed on video feed for this morning
We'll see what happens and probably report it here as soon as anything pops up
As Pitts pointed out .... they MUST pass these SENATE fiscal bills, since the House bills are now dead; they don't really have to even come up on the House floor until next week, but they may have to wait until John Woods gets back to Texas from his "home" in Virginia ... in case the "Doctor of the Day" needs to be close by him when he hears the news. :eek6 ---------------

Really, looking at the process ... steps SB 5 went through in the house ... it isn't ready for the Floor quite today probably ...
, it could be soon ... However, I don't see us on the Floor's Calendar today probably.
(I kinda hope SB 5, which was postponed until 10:00 am today ... gets postponed again until after SB 1581 is considered on the floor.) We'll see what Rep Branch does. His companion to SB 5 http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/BillLook ... R&Bill=SB5" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Higher Education Committee http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/Committe ... eCode=C290" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I thought SB5 was dropped after campus carry was amended to it. Did I miss something?

Wentworth added an amendment which struck the campus carry amendment.

Yes, you beat me to it

Another Amendment was added ... by Wentworth .... removing the prior amendment ... which had added campus carry

I used an analogy somewhere here before about the "mythical undetectable ceramic Glock" which metal detectors can't detect. unless loaded with metal ammo ... unload it to get it through ... can be reloaded later maybe.

This is a funny Local/consent session

A "chicken manure bill" ... deregulating chicken manure passed; ...
A bill about grain operators passed ... no one "went against the grain"
and other amusing things ... about as amusing as watching Jay Leno .... partly due to them being tired from staying up late last night

I just called appropriations 1581 was passed out of committee with a committee substitute. I am trying to find out what is changed now.
...

Update:
Just called Aycock's office they are saying he was against the campus carry provisions and voted accordingly.

More updates coming.

They're getting pretty nasty, and pretty stupid this morning. Lots of snide/rude comments with no purpose other than to have a comment for a political campaign.

Still calling people:
Ogden's office didn't know the status.
Wentworth's said they would call me right back.

 :eek6 That's amazing info since Aycock's district was Dr. Suzanna Hupp's district ........
That's MY district and I can tell you that isn't representative of this area's constituency at all.
