CHRIS CHRISTIE ON GUN LAWS

#1

Post by CWOOD »

Earlier this week, Sean Hannity interviewed Chris Christie.

As many may know, Chris Christie is Governor of New Jersey. He has been widely mentioned as a potential candidate for President ans has denied the potential, but who knows what the future holds. He seems very conservative, and aggressively so, on fiscal matters and there is much to like about him in that regard.

In the course of the interview, Hannity asked him about his 2nd Amendment position. As you may recall, last year he commuted the sentence of a man who was wrongfully convicted of a felony gun charge while he was actually obeying the law regarding the transportation of firearms. He was moving to a new residence. Christie mentioned this issue in his answer and noted the commutation and said that he was against gun laws being unfairly applied.

OPINION:While this certainly provided some relief to the victim in this miscarriage, a pardon would seem to have been more appropriate.

He then stated that he thought that he saw no need to add further gun laws in New Jersey, he also said that he thought that New Jersey gun laws we fine as they are and provided a good balance of safety and citizen rights.

OPINION: Personally, anyone who feels that New Jersey gun laws provide a good balance would worry me greatly as POTUS.

Christie would be a disaster on Second Amendment issues. One of my fellow NRA Board Members is an attorney in New Jersey and he's very active in the Second Amendment area. The only good thing that can be said about Christie is that he's not Crozine. Even his mild statement about current NJ gun laws is a lie.

Christie would be a disaster, period. Let's all try and get someone in office NOT from NY, Jersey, or Chicago. :cheers2:

I guess I should stop calling and sending faxes to our elected officials to support the pro-gun legislation, I would not want my northern accent and writing skills to have a negative effect on any legislation. It is not like I could not use the time to do something else.....

Well, I heard on the news the other day that Governor Perry was receiving some pressure to look at the Presidency.

We could do worse.

Oh wait a minute . . . what am I talking about? In the last election, we DID do worse . . . FAR worse.

And as a transplanted Yankee I have to say that far as Southern accents making for a good POTUS, consider these three letters: LBJ. :nono:
Original CHL: 2000: 56 day turnaround
1st renewal, 2004: 34 days
2nd renewal, 2008: 81 days
3rd renewal, 2013: 12 days

At the risk of upsetting half the folks that belong to this forum, I'll just say that I understand what you mean by that last part (and I was born and raised in Texas)...and leave it at that.

Don't forget the southern accented President from 1993-2001...

A RINO is worse than a democrat in my opinion. At least with Obama we are on guard.
