FS: S&W 66-1 2.5" 38/357 + Extras - SOLD

Post by AEA »

OK Boys & Girls.......
This will be a short sale.......only until Friday the 10th. If it does not sell here, it is going to the gun show at Market Hall on the 11th.

1978 S&W Model 66-1 (stainless), 2.5" barrel .38/.357mag with original factory grips (+Hogue's on it) in original factory box with all documents and tools that came with it. The gun is in excellent condition.
S/N 27K24XX.

Additional Extras are 94 rounds of Federal Hydra-Shok Tactical 158gr .357mag. (about $100.00)
Galco SM112B Right Hand OWB Black Leather Holster. (about $75.00)
Hogue K/L Frame Grips currently on gun. (about $25.00)
S&W Factory Letter for this gun. ($50.00 and a long wait time)

Total for extras is +/- $250.00

Price for all is $650.00 (I will not break up this package).
You are basically getting the gun for $400.00 !!! And you would have to buy the other stuff anyway.

This is a STEAL for a classic, hard to find, S&W from 1978 in excellent condition.

FTF in McKinney or Denton areas ONLY. I will not ship. Contributing Forum Members ONLY. I am near Sherman, so McKinney/Denton is about as far as I want to drive. Unless.....it does not sell and I have to drive to Dallas Market Hall on the 11th.

This is the early series in the model 66 (-1).
It has the pinned barrel and recessed cylinders.

In the review thread by Stephen:
WildBill wrote:Stephen - Thanks for the fine review. Too many of the new revolvers carry only five shots, rather than the more traditional six-shooter. I would like to have one of these as a carry gun. I really prefer Colts, but if I could find one like yours, I would serious consider buying it.
OK WildBill, a complete classic carry package for you. How about another road trip to McKinney? :thumbs2:

I couldn't get up to DFW area until week of June 15 at earliest or I'd buy that one from you. Bring it down here to me in Austin area and I'll buy it from you and buy you lunch.

Thanks for the offer, but I am lazy! I don't even want to drive to Dallas, much less Austin! :smilelol5:

I may not even go to the gun show on the 11th and just leave it up on here till it sells as I am not in any real hurry. It's just sitting in the safe.

This is the last of my wheel guns (other than the 642-1 as the truck gun) and am planning to just stick with semi-autos (1911's) that I have.

More pictures as requested and it is a round butt frame. The backstrap is open (also grooved) with these Hogue's.

great looking pistol, and great performing pistol. I have a S&W Model 19-4 2.5", the nickel plated brother of this very gun. It's a pleasure to shoot, and the lockup (compared to my crappy SP101 2.25") is amazing. Although the nickel plating is pristine on mine, I plan on having it refinished in something less shiny... maybe a Cera-plate. How do you like the finger groove stocks? I have the S&W medallion round butt stocks, and the k frame target stocks, but neither fit me as well as the Hogues I have on my SP101.

I've only shot around 24 rounds with the Hogue's on it, but love them. I put Houge's on most all the revolvers I have had.
