Some of the stripper clips I purchased are slightly bent, anyone know a good way to bend them. They are steel but with the properaplication of force I think they will be useable.

If you're REALLY into the SKS, you can build a pretty sizeable collection. In no particular order there are: Russian Tula and Izhevsk, Romanian, Yugoslavian M59 and M59/66, Albanian, Chinese with dozens of arseanls and variations, and also the very rare (never imported) East German, North Korean, and North Vietnamese. I've got a pretty good selection of them, but I absolutely will not modify any of them in a way that isn't 100% reversible. There's a reason mine stay pretty much unchanged. Most of the aftermarket parts and mods are junk. The only one of mine I've modified is a Norinco that i got cheap, and all I did was remove the bayo and camo paint a Chinese "jungle" stock for it.

Here's a pic-see if you can find "Waldo":

There are are several websites and even a pretty good forum on the SKS. These will get you started:

Good site for history of the SKS http://www.simonov.net
This is a good FAQ page http://www.victorinc.com/SKS-FAQ.html
The BEST Forum dedicated to the SKS http://www.sksboards.com/smf/index.php

Are the bipods for them any good or are they junk too?

The only ones I've seen were pretty flimsy-looking...probably not much more effective than using the bayonet for a "mono-pod."

That is a neat idea...Does anyone know of a way to make your own bipod. I don't have a welder and don't want to weld on my new gun anyway. Is there a way to make one out of pvc piping or another material? Just theories are welcome too.

I see, I have a pretty good idea of where you are talking about.

As for the home-made bipod....progress is being made.
