I'm now browsing the forum on my new iPad, birthday present. This thing is amazing.

They are pretty cool aren't they. I got my wife one a month ago and I think I use it more than she does. Its one of the first ones. I want the new one now. Its evil how they keep putting out newer versions every six months.

Those are awesome. I have one "for work". I haven't figured out how it is supposed to make me more productive, but it sure is fun. My wife says they gave me an ipad because they want me to stop writing notes directly on my hand, but I still do that. My old system just works, but the ipad is cool.

Got mine along back in October/November. I use it all the time, including for business purposes. However, I highly recommend purchasing one of Apple's small bluetooth keyboards if you're going to do a lot of typing on it.

I think I'm going to get a folding keyboard. I'm not app averse to spending money on apps - thpere are some amazing apps for music and productivity. I'm really digging the magazine apps too.

I'd also recommend getting the Apple Care Protection Plan for your iPad. It's $79 & gives you 2 years of phone support (Consumer Reports #1 technical support for 11 years running) + an additional year of hardware warranty. Also, be aware that the hardware warranty doesn't cover accidental damage, liquid damage, or lost/stolen devices. So you might want to look into an insurance plan like Best Buy's (if you bought from them), SquareTrade, or others.

Just an FYI for disclosure purposes: I work for Apple and have supported iOS devices for the last 2 years. I just recently transitioned to Mac support but am more than happy to help anyone out who has questions about their iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, or Mac. And yes, I have APP for all of my Apple products.

Enjoy. We got one a little while back and the kiddo loves playing with some of the baby apps on there such as finger painting and various touch screen noise makers. We got a bunch of flash card type apps for her to use when she's older.

I absolutely love mine. I use it for school and whatnot. Actually, I also reccomend a keyboard. As a matter of fact, I have this " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and it pretty much takes care of everything. Weather channel app is amazing, as well as 5-0 police scanner. A few others too... I basically have an app for everything. It has almost COMPLETELY made my laptop obsolete, but not entirely. Still use my laptop for writing papers, etc. But for taking notes in class and surfing the internet, it's God's greatest gift to students.

I love it. Got the iPad 1 the day after it came out, only to have it hijacked by my then 1.5 year old and my wife. Had to get a second...

I never upgraded to the iPad 2 because I figure with the iPad 3 launching later this year, I'd get one of those instead.

Enjoy! It'll change the way you use computers!

Last New Year's Day, I accidentally dropped my closed 17" Macbook Pro on its left side, denting it and causing a pronounced raised sort of a creased section of the speaker grill on the left. It slid off my lap when I was reaching for something. I realized that Apple Care would probably not cover any of the damage since it was my fault for dropping it. But I finally decided to get it fixed because the crease over the speaker wouldn't let me close the laptop all the way.

I took it to the Mac store in Southlake Town Center, and sure enough, the guy there told me it probably wouldn't be covered, but he took it in the back to see if the card supporting the two USB ports under the left speaker was damaged. Sure enough, it was. Then he said he thought Apple Care might cover a cracked USB card. Then he said that if they were going to do that, they might as well cover the cost of replacing the top of the bent case. THEN he said that if they were going to do that, they might as well cover the cost of replacing the bottom of the case too. The original estimate was for $267.00. Apple Care covered all of it, even though the damage was 100% my fault. I've had Apple care assist me with other issues too, but this is the best example of how good they really are.

Ok, why doesn't my iPhone work as a phone? Can't remember the last time I went a single day without multiple dropped calls :evil2:

I actually know the answer - AT&T's signal is pathetic around here.

And every AT&T smart phone takes twice the bandwidth of other subscribers devices.
