Re: Mosin Nagant
I picked up my two M44 for $120 and $150. Just got to keep your eyes open. My all matching T53 was a bit more at $185.
Re: Mosin Nagant
Still wanting to know where you Mosin guys get your headspace gauges, or do pay a gunsmith to check it? I'd rather do it myself.
Re: Mosin Nagant
It looks like Brownell's carries them, if you don't get any other leads.G26ster wrote:Still wanting to know where you Mosin guys get your headspace gauges, or do pay a gunsmith to check it? I'd rather do it myself.

Take a look at this under reassembly. I have several of these and I can bring one next week.

Thanks. Looks like they carry both the Fosters and the Clymers for 7.62x54R.apostate wrote:It looks like Brownell's carries them, if you don't get any other leads.G26ster wrote:Still wanting to know where you Mosin guys get your headspace gauges, or do pay a gunsmith to check it? I think you're talking about the firing pin depth gauge, not a set of 3 headspace gauges (GO, NO-GO, and FIELD), unless they came with the rifle.steve817 wrote:Mine came with my rifle.G26ster wrote: One other thing, where do you Mosin guys get your headspace gauges?

Never seen the type that fit on the outside of the chamber, rather than in the chamber, but I guess those work as the principle is the same. Also, it looks like you don't need to remove the extractor to use those, so that's a big plus. At an absolute minimum, I would have the FIELD gauge. Thanks for the link.steve817 wrote:Oh, you mean these. http://www.okiegauges.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Edit: Also he has an excellent primer for headspace here:
