A Kind Person . . .

Since I have moved to Texas, I have noticed how friendly and polite people have been, almost without exception.

Well, here was one of my "Welcome to Texas" moments. I had the wife, kids, and dog in the Suburban driving back to Spring from Galveston yesterday. Just south of the south side Beltway on I-45, I got a flat tire.

I couldn't figure out how to get the spare tire lowered on the cable arrangement with the Suburban, when a guy and his wife stopped. He got out and helped me change the tire. He was wearing nice clothes (looked like "church clothes"), a blue dress shirt, nice jeans, fancy boots. We both got sweaty and dirty getting it done. If he hadn't stopped . . .

The good Lord was taking care of my family and me yesterday.

Up around Burnet, it's almost rare if you drive down a road and people don't wave at you .... Hasn't changed much in that respect since as long as I recall ,,, back in the 50's 60s ... and still waving ... and using the whole hand with all fingers ;-)

Think I'll go get some raw oysters for a late lunch. Then maybe hit the driving range, those balls are fun to shoot.
