Castle Doctrine Pending Bill

#1

Post by gamboolman »

Gentlemen,

Thanks for the update on the pending legislation.

I wrote Ms. Reynolds and she responded that she supports the Castle Doctrine for Texas and Texans.

I have read the draft bill and I have one question regarding the locations? The bill lists specific locations, but what about when a person is out and about walking around in public and is forced to use deadly force - will the bill as worded protect us?

Also, besides being a member of the TSRA, what else can I do to make the passage of this bill happen?

Thanks, Mal......

Castle Doctrine in Public Places

#2

Seems to me that Section 2 A 3 E of the proposed bill covers public places. IMHO

What is the difference between HB 103 and HB 284?

One was filed by Driver, the other by Riddle. Otherwise they are exact duplicates (Check the "Companions" tab on the Legislature's site here http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/BillLook ... Bill=HB103).

That is what confused me, I read them side by side and they were exactly the same.
