strider67 is about to loose his mind
Okay here's the deal, strider67 is a good friend of mine who let his CHL expire some years ago before we met. Since we've been friends of course his interest in concealed carry has how you say "peaked"
Well he finally took the class on 7-16 and got everything mailed off on 7-18
However since that time he is constantly checking the website like 25 times a day. He came by my shop today to pick up a mirror for his daughter and immediately asked to use my computer and of course had me hit the login button for good luck, and when there was no change I thought the top of his head would come off.
So please could you nice folks give him more of the reassurance that I have giving him that it will happen and to just chl and wait and that before he knows it the plastic will be on the mailbox and then it will be
Thanks in advance to all of my friends here for the reassurance and encouragement of my good friend in arms.

To my mind it is wholly irresponsible to go into the world incapable of preventing violence, injury, crime, and death. How feeble is the mindset to accept defenselessness. How unnatural. How cheap. How cowardly. How pathetic-TN

Re: strider67 is about to loose his mind
Greetings all! I think RAM4171 exaggerates a little bit as I have only checked 23 times today! I guess this is the price I pay for letting it expire in the first place!
On a serious note, I am not only excited about the plastic, but also about finding this forum. I navigate nightly and have learned much in a short time. I know, WITH PATIENCE, I will receive my plastic. In the meanwhile, I will continue navigating and learning!!!

I know exactly how you feel. I let mine expire too a few years ago due to an anti-gun wife. New pro-gun wife now and going through it all over again. Only this time classmates are in manufacturing while I'm still stuck in BG review. I've started refering to my midnight web check as "my nightly dissapointment".

Re: strider67 is about to loose his mind
I almost feel guilty posting this but I checked my status earlier today and am at 'Manufacturing Pending' status. And yes, BG check has been completed to boot! All I wanted was to see something new on my numerous and frequent checks and lo and behold...an early Christmas! This comes after only one week to the day of them receiving my package.
I had to go through a pretty extensive BG check for work a couple of months ago, so maybe they somehow updated my info from that. The only other explanation is Divine Intervention!
Hope your process goes quickly too!

Most of them have been running about the same amount of time (unless you live in Dumas ).

That's it! I'm moving! Oh wait. That'd just make it take longer.

Re: strider67 is about to loose his mind
We don't acknowledge it very often, but I have to give kudos to DPS. Five or six years ago, it was not uncommon to see new licenses take 80 to 100 days, and renewals almost as long. In the past couple of years they have really turned that around and end-to-end processing times are typically shorter than the 60 days allowed in the Government Code.

Just checked again. Not expecting anything new again. It has MAILED! 1 week and 2 days after signing for materials! And I don't even know anyone at the DPS!
