I'm sorry but there is at least one more issue/question and that is: speed limits.Oldgringo wrote:Yes, you forgot "signs", the Post Office and how to use a public bathroom.PappaGun wrote:Me thinks a new rule for posting on the Forum should be a WARNING about posting any questions in regards to the CHL badge.

I wear one so that if my gun shows while using the public restroom in a 51% marked bar the cops will know I am a good guy and not give me a ticket when I speed away from the scene en route to the Post Office...

How are those Montana speed limits?
Are they as "Liberal" as rumors have them?

Re: CONCEAL CARRY BADGES.......
Speed limit signs in Montana are kinda' like the Burma Shave signs of yore and the solid yellow line is only a suggestion. Montana highways are lined with white crosses on red steel posts put there by the Montana Highway Department at a death scene. It is not uncommon to see 3, 4 or more crosses on a single post - on both sides of the road across from each other! It was only a couple of years ago that drinking and driving wasn't illegal in MT. We've often wondered what the driver did and at what speed when we saw the rare stop.PappaGun wrote:LOL.Oldgringo wrote: I'm sorry but there is at least one more issue/question and that is: speed limits.

That said, we've survived another glorious summer in Big Sky country and are anxious to go back...after ice out.
Thanks for asking.

It sounds like a lot of repressed jealousy out there.

But I thought we couldn't carry into the Post office, unless it is only to go to the restroom....(runs away)wgoforth wrote:I wear one so that if my gun shows while using the public restroom in a 51% marked bar the cops will know I am a good guy and not give me a ticket when I speed away from the scene en route to the Post Office...

Re: CONCEAL CARRY BADGES.......
Having been one of two persons on scene with a gun in my hand when the police responded to a shooting call ...EN MASS....I cant, and WON'T discount the idea of having something official looking (although COMPLETELY WORTHLESS) to wave around that may give those responding just a split second of pause as they arrive.
I'll take an impersonating charge over a hail of gunfire any day of the week.....
Been there, done that, speaking from the pilots seat....NOT the Monday morning QB position. Being in that situation SUCKS!!! BAD and knowing you have a dozen or more good guys enroute that have NO IDEA who is the good guy on scene and who is the bad is freaking terrifying. All you can do is BEG dispatch to tell them not to shoot you when they arrive and hope to God that the message gets through and they are level headed when they roll up.

What if they think it's a BUG and shoot you because of it?

Re: CONCEAL CARRY BADGES.......
I'll try to sit down later and put it all together "after action" style. Long story short, my wife an I have been dealing with her ex and his violent behavior ever since our relationship began. I have been in shoot/no shoot situations with him in the past. He ended up getting probation on several family violence and weapon charges as a result of his action around that time. Well....the probation ended recently and he seemed to have gotten with the program. Everything was very cordial and he was beginning to mend fences with us and the kids. This all went out the window when the son and I dropped by to retrieve a pickup that son had loaned him. Son went in to get keys, dad started fight...son (USMC) handed a beating to dad and started out door with keys....seconds later dad followed with pistol pointed at back of sons head. I drew and was well into the trigger pull in my Para when sons arm flashed through my sight picture. Son windmilled the arm holding the gun...and the fight went to the ground. We secured THAT gun, and dad broke away and ran for the house. 911 had been dialed as soon as son walked out and started with story from inside. So 911 was online and recording entire incedent. The posse was enroute....ALL of em. We moved back to an point we could observe, and cover ourselves in case dad came out with another weapon,....which he did right as police rolled up. Standoff ensued with him and son and I were understanably approached as hostile until things were sorted out. Not a good feeling looking down a half dozen tac lights with barrels and flash hiders sticking out. It all worked out well, but could have just as easily gone the other way in a hurry.
