Tacomaoffroader, Sam come next time. Tacomaoffroader, PM replied.

O6nop, AR Traveler, RoundRock_Gun_Fan it was nice meeting you! If you'd like to try a low light shoot w/ flash light, we can get together in ARC sometime. It can also be a good way for you to check out ARC.

Those were some nice shooting you guys; I'll have to bring something easier to shoot than a PM9 next time to keep up w/ you guys :)

Weather was great; range got busy starting at about 11AM. We got to check out/try some interesting firearms. Eagle Peak turned out to be a good place for a social gathering; although the picnic table is a bit too close to the firing line IMO.

Thanks for letting me try the little Keltec., P229 .40S&W. The Keltec was much better than I expected; very accurate little thing. I had a good time guys. I'll upload the pic sometime tonight when I get home.

Austin get together at Eagle Peak was great

I especially liked trying out different calibers and different makes of guns. Never shot a .44 magnum before, awesome! And I got to try a .40 for the first time, and a different make of .357 from my own. I got carried away and stayed until 1:30. I ended up shooting my 10/22 at the rifle range before leaving.

Compliments to the range for the level of safety they require!

I hope we can try some different ranges... after my complaining so much about ranges closing and moving, I'm glad j1132s got us together to try this place. I want to try ARC so I can shoot my FMJ mil-surp guns.

I believe the gauntlet has been thrown, ladies and gentlemen. Who among us will post a new "D/FW get-together" thread? :grouphug

The person first to the left is holding a target displaying a very tight grouping. It just makes me slightly uncomfortable where he's holding it. ;-)

j1132s invited me to drive to Austin for the shoot, but I was committed to IDPA in Pearland; rained out, unfortunately.

I think these TXCHL get-togethers are a wonderful thing. We just need to spike the attendance. And support those who arrange the events!

Sorry I missed it. My wife decided we had other plans for today.

Are we going to make it a regular day of the month, say the last Saturday each month? That would let me put it on the calendar far enough ahead that she would know and not make other plans (yeah, right!).

It's OK, he was wearing a belt buckle, like I said, the utmost of safety was observed.

I had a great time shooting with the guys. I was really impressed with everybody's shooting, especially 06nop. We definately need to make this a monthly gathering.
I just need to remember to bring lots more ammo!!

Looks like you guys had fun. I should be able to make it on the next one.

j1132s,

You still remember me? Sorry I have to turn down your invitation last time we spoke but will take you on this one on your next schedule.

I should be able to bring my Glock 26, 17, 34 and a 642 J-frame for other members to try.

I went back and looked through this thread and saw at least 19 names, including everyone that went last week, that are interested in meeting on a regular basis. Probably more if you figure in friends and family and people that haven't responded yet. I think we have a lot of potential for a good showing for the Austin area. Just wonder if wherever we go would be overwhelmed with the attendance if everyone decided to go at once.

I think attending a IDPA match would be a great time, but I'd like to set up some carpooling.

BTW, j1132s, if I haven't mentioned it before, thanks for all your efforts getting things going.

In just one more week Ill be living in the Austin area (Kyle) so once we get there and get settled I would love to take part in a local get together at the range. You guys scheduled this one just a bit too soon for me but hopefully next time. =)
