Thanks. I've been around a while but stay hiding in the shadows......until I'm needed.Skiprr wrote:JKTex, welcome to the Forum.
And thank you.
JKTex wrote: The main reason I quoted you was that last sentence. That is absolutely NOT what supporters of civilian carry of any kind, needs to have on their side. If you truly feel that way, you're a huge part of the problem. It's not only counter productive to advancing the scope CHL and gun rights in general, it's taking steps backwards and giving anti-gun and anti-carry folks more support.
Integrity = Doing the right thing, because it's the right thing to do. Period.
Illegal is illegal. Crime is crime. Right is right. Wrong is wrong.....and that line of thinking is wrong.
I don't disagree with anything you say. I do think we worry to much about giving anti's ammunition, they don't need it. It has been evident over and over that it doesn't matter what the anti's are given are not given. They will continue their campaign. In fact I suspect they would rather use false hoods than something we may give them. This way they can be more creative, like the idea of abolishing parts of the second amendment.JKTex wrote: it's taking steps backwards and giving anti-gun and anti-carry folks more support.
That depends what state you're in. In Texas, the restriction does "not apply if the actor was not given effective notice under Section 30.06."Ruark wrote:Hold on a minute. Isn't it irrelevant whether or not a "no guns" sign in a hospital is compliant, because carrying a gun into a hospital is illegal, regardless?
They used to be, but as Tamie said, know they must post according to 30.06 or give effective notice some other way.Ruark wrote:Hold on a minute. Isn't it irrelevant whether or not a "no guns" sign in a hospital is compliant, because carrying a gun into a hospital is illegal, regardless?
Whoa. So basically you're saying that it doesn't matter WHERE it is - a police headquarters, hospital, FBI office, capitol building, whatever... if there's not an official notice, you can carry???C-dub wrote:...now they must post according to 30.06 or give effective notice some other way.
Nope.Ruark wrote:Whoa. When you come to PC §46.035(i) you see: "Subsections (b)(4), (b)(5), (b)(6), and (c) do not apply if the actorPC §46.035 wrote:(b)(4) on the premises of a hospital licensed under Chapter 241,

He was responding to a comment about hospitals and his reply applies to hospitals. If your statement regarding all those other places wasn't sarcasm, I hope you haven't actually been through a CHL class yet, because if you have, you need to get your money back.Ruark wrote:Whoa.
